Kazmojen Summerfang

June 25, 2009 01:08

In his core, Kaz is a feral creature. He relies far more on instincts and emotions than on logic and reason. He is a restless wanderer that cannot stay in a single place for too long. Being very hard on himself, he is constantly aware of his own mistakes, however he tends to forgive others easily. Kaz was raised by Rawl Sommerfield (Ranger) after his parents Ren’ji and Jasmine were killed protecting Kaz from a remorhaz. Rawl basically adopted Kaz after his parents’ death and taught him the ways of the ranger. Rawl also taught Kaz to forge his own weapons and armor. As well as how to use rituals of creation. Kaz lives in the forest that surrounds Rawl’s home and is self reliant in almost every way, only relying on Rawl in times of great need. Creatures in the forest have learned to avoid the area around Rawl’s home; to enter this area usually means death at the end of Rawl’s sword. Rawl is entering the later stages of his life. His body and reflexes have slowed, but his mind is as sharp as ever. The forest itself remains a test of survival for the young, relatively inexperienced Kaz. The winters are cold and long; summers are relatively short and cool. Home to several types of dire animals and far to the north a clan of frost giants, this forest is extremely dangerous. Self-reliance and bravery have long been the most important virtues in Kaz’s mind and he makes a point of always being prepared for the unexpected. Freedom is his greatest treasure and he would gladly die fighting to protect it. Kaz is skeptical towards the concept of gods and large organized religions, figuring that he trusts in the spiritual powers that he can feel and touch every day than some all powerful gods that are not really part of this world and have their own agenda. The only thing he truly believes in is life and death. The fact that we will all face our on mortality someday causes Kaz to never give up and fight to the bitter end.

He still mostly avoids civilization, feeling more at ease sleeping on the forest floor than a tavern bed. If he must enter a city he prefers to a hay loft over a a fine inn.

Kaz is weary of strangers but once an individual proves themselves to be a member of the “pack” he will not hesitate to fight to the death to protect them. When strangers meet him for the first time he often comes across brash and cold-hearted. This is due to his animalistic nature. He prefers to read people and it takes him a long time to trust people. Kaz is a stranger to women, but is very animalistic about it. Kaz will not cross breed and is not attracted to other races. He believes breeding is the right of the strong. He also believes females should be chosen for their physical qualities not their looks. The survival of the species is paramount. Kaz keeps his body pure . He will only drink water and will not consume alcohol or processed drinks, he hates the effects of alcohol. His taste in food is very similar. He will only eat whole foods, preferably meat and will not eat processed foods.
