Sin City
#1 A Not So Long Haul
Time: Night
Mood: Attentive
Location: En route to Las Vegas
Current Song: Resident Evil Afterlife – Promise
Though we are taking the long way, it’s really not so much of a long haul after all. It’s but a mere 4-5 hour drive depending on the speed limit. My concern only grows for my sister who has placed herself in a hornet’s nest. I do not know how long she’ll last or how long until her cover is blown. It’ll only be a matter of time until someone recognizes her, let’s hope that doesn’t happen.
We would’ve made this mission open to other Hunters on the Net but Mommy said to keep it as discreet as possible, only she and Daddy knows we’re on this Hunt. I had to lie to Aaron about the real reason why I’m going to Vegas. He believes that I have a modeling gig here, but it’s only a matter of time until he finds out. He’ll most likely call the agency and ask for my whereabouts, then presume the worst case scenario.
“What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.” only God knows what all sorts of debauchery takes place in this wicked city, especially at night. Why don’t they just go ahead and call it “Vampire City”? We should find an abundance of both Hunters and vampires alike in the city. Shouldn’t be hard to call for aid when shit hits the fan, which also works vice-versa. I don’t see why the city isn’t tearing itself apart as we speak. It should be a war zone. But no, the vamps need this city to lure innocent sheep… my God. I’m over thinking too much. I need to clear my head and focus on the Hunt.

We had received word earlier from our sister that she was on the trail and we acknowledged that. I have now just checked in the hotel that Genevieve has reserved for us. Rachel is currently taking Thor for a walk and will be back shortly. I secured all our weapon cases into the closet and specifically pulled my own weapon case to sort out ones that I will be needing for tonight.
It was late, nearing almost 3am, and I was tired from the long drive. I had a crick in my neck that bothered me so I made sure I was well hydrated and laid down for a while. The beds were very nice. Very comfortable. I was tempted to take a power nap, but I couldn’t risk it that I may completely fall asleep and compromise Genevieve’s safety.
Something was off. Most night clubs close around this time and still no news from our sister. Rachel had already arrived with Thor and had started sorting her weapons too. She brought with her a plate full of fresh sliced fruits from the cafeteria, and I decided to have some.
Once it bothered me enough I decided to check Genevieve’s location on my phone, and that’s what disturbed me. She didn’t have one, which most likely meant that her phone was off. I looked at Rachel and gave her a look that she understood right away.
Time was short. We roughly had 3-4 hours left until sunlight. We knew this would happen eventually so we activated the fail-safe. We were now able to track Genevieve through other means. She was on the move. Her indicator was heading outside the city. It stopped at a remote area nearby the outskirts of Vegas. About a 30 minute drive. We took our cases and headed out immediately.
Genevieve’s position on the GPS led us to what looked like a shack more or less. We parked a good distance within sight, prepped our gear, weapons, communication devices, and then made my way to the cabin. Rachel said she doesn’t sense any supernaturals within the vicinity, so that made me feel more at ease but still perplexed. Maybe Genevieve got mugged and had her possessions stolen by a regular thief. Either way, this person had no right to possess our sister’s belongings. I didn’t even bother knocking once I reached the door. It’s about 4 in the morning, I just drove about 5 hours and I wasn’t at all in the mood for a friendly chat. Yes as matter of fact, I was very grumpy so I made a fist and punched the door in.
Resident Evil Retribution – Corridor
There I saw Genevieve asleep, tied to a chair, and a mysterious female making a dash for her holster hanging on a dining chair. She smoothly slid across the floor to her holster, pulled out a revolver and started firing at me. I took cover behind the wall right next to me and signaled Rachel for cover fire. I heard 2 more peeps coming from the back room loading their weapons and get into position. I hear a gunshot from behind me, zips through the doorway and takes out one of them. They panic and started to open fire at will. A second gunshot from Rachel’s position zips through a window and eliminates the second person. Lastly, the woman runs for Genevieve and uses her as hostage. I signal Rachel to hold fire and I throw down my weapon. I step in with my hands up and guess what? The bitch shoots me and says to me that we didn’t know what sort of nightmare we were getting into. I chuckled in pain and replied,
“Clearly, you don’t know you just picked a fight with.”
With that said, Rachel had sneaked up from back and knocked the lights out of her.
#2 Triple H
Time: Morning
Mood: Cranky
Location: Las Vegas
Current Song: FFIX – Soulless Village
It hurt like hell taking a bullet to the chest even with kevlar on. Rachel checked if I was alright but I turned her away. My self-healing ability had already kicked in. Yes, my sisters and I heal faster than the normal Imbued Hunter. To an average Imbued Hunter what would take weeks would only take days, what would take days would only take hours, and with hours within minutes. For us, it’s almost unimaginable (our powers are beyond that of the Imbued. We’re totally something different though similar, can’t quite explain it). Unfortunately it doesn’t work on drugs and alcohol otherwise Genevieve wouldn’t be affected at all by any sleeper reagents.
As Rachel examined Genevieve, I secured our POW and sat her up a chair. I immediately wanted to wake her up and begin an interrogation but Rachel declared that we had to leave right away. She said that we couldn’t stay long so we left as soon as we gathered everything we needed.
Back at our hotel after an investigation session we learned that the men we killed were Hunters. We killed them in self-defense. Hunters with family? We cannot confirm. Do we feel horrible? Not in the slightest. Every Hunter must know the stake and cost of the Hunt. The only way to find out if they’re Imbued is if we are to see reports of missing Hunters on the Net around Vegas with matching description, which we could care less at this point.
We attempted an interrogation but our suspect had spirit. If only Genevieve was conscious, she could have made her talk, if not so much easier, and there was no telling when she was going to wake up. We tried to wake her but she was heavily sedated. Our suspect wouldn’t even tell us her name. In short, we got nothing from Her. Just a physical description. We were going to have to do it the long and scientific way.
If anything, I’m more worried about Genevieve. I’m not entirely sure what kind of drug she was given.
Time: Afternoon
Mood: Impatient

My body took its precious time to get up today and I allowed it. I felt that it deserved a much needed rest after all that took place last night. However, it wasn’t so much about getting Genevieve back, it was just the long duration of driving. I just want to emphasize how tiring it can be even though you are seated comfortably, it’s almost like jet lag.
Rachel had already ordered food from room service, and I thought to myself that she really takes care of us. I often take her for granted. I’m thankful to have a sister such as her to have my back.
Now back to business.
I really tried to be nice. I did. I even offered her food and wine, but still not a word. Now I’m not much of an interrogator but I wanted answers and Genevieve’s life was at stake. She is still unconscious. What did they do to her to force her into some sort of deep sleep or coma?! This woman leaves me no choice.
After what seemed like hours of dishing out pain. I left the hotel to clear my thoughts.
It really bothered me that she was so tough and persistent. She was not either a witch or under the influence of a supernatural being which meant that she was acting in her own accord. Her own free will. A “Triple H”. Now the question remains, to kill or not to kill? I’ve never come across one and eliminating her will save other Hunters a lot of trouble in the future. Maybe not just yet, she could still be of value. Not until we learn who she really is and what she’s done with Genevieve.
#3 Divided We Fall
Time: Night
Mood: Dismayed
Location: Hotel Palazzo, Las Vegas
Current Song: Michael Jackson – Will You Be There
The suite was in complete shambles, like hurricane Katrina swept by and there was no sign of anyone in the room besides a dog who was about to knock at doggy heaven’s door.
I immediately attended to Thor’s critical needs and was able to patch him up. I wasn’t entirely sure but it seemed like he had a crushed lung and his legs were broken. I was surprised that with this much damage, none of the neighboring guests were able to hear all the commotion that took place. There was definitely some sort of supernatural power to suppress noise was involved. From the looks of it, there were got to be at least 3-4 shapeshifters. Their tracks were somewhat fresh but I couldn’t just pursue them and leave Thor in this condition so I informed the front desk and have them call 911 emergency response.
I felt stupid, useless, and responsible for what has happened. I couldn’t track any of my sisters and our arsenal was stolen. All I had on me was my cell, my mace, my knife, and my handgun with a single round. I began to feel really emotional and fought back the tears as I sat in the questioning room at the nearest police department. This wasn’t suppose to happen. It was suppose to be secret, now we were separated from one another. I know that my sisters are very capable of defending themselves but not like this. Together we were just about unbeatable.
They gave me a chance to call someone, and there was only one person in mind… AJ. It was very comforting to hear his voice and I had no choice but to lie to him. I spoke to him as if all was well, my photo shoots were amazing, and I was just about to go to bed. I really fought hard to hold back the tears and ended the conversation with “I miss you.”.
Right before they released me, they introduced me to a professional detective to work on my case. His name was Scott Truman.
