In the Year of Blue Fire, 1385 D.R., the Spellplague swept across Toril, leaving destruction and chaos in it’s wake. Nothing was proof against it – it consumed and warped flesh, stone, magic, even dimensions. The very face of the world was transformed as seas vanished, deserts became verdant, vast chasms opened into the depths of the Underdark, mountains were uprooted and now float peak-down in the skies. Rumors tell of an entire continent across the Trackless Sea being replaced with a new land, populated by strange creatures and ruled by dragons. Over a century after the cataclysm, the once well-traveled continent of Faerun consists of isolated pockets of civilization, struggling to survive in the midst of the dark wilderness that surrounds them.
