The Twelve Hammers
The Twelve Hammers of Negacion are a myth. There is no proof that they exist, all of the rumors that have been circulating are just that, speculation. There is no divine plan for the end of the world, no evil machinations of some forgotten deity that we need to worry about. All of the talk about what happened at The Putrid Scar is being extremely embellished, much of it is nothing more than a fairy tale.
The Twelve Hammers of Negacion are massive constructs created by the exiled deity Cavar in his attempt to open the doorway to the heavens and reenter heaven, thus reclaiming his godhood at the expense of the world’s destruction. Pariatas has within it twelve points at which the major ley lines of magic and life intersect, each one a pillar to sustain Pariatas and a lock barring the way to the realm of the gods.
Once a deity loses its godhood, the only way known to restore its divine status is to break those pillars and use the resulting destruction of the planet to propel one through the opened doorway back into the realm of the gods and infuse them with the energy of the planet to make them a god. Cavar constructed twelve beings or ‘hammers’ to break down those mystical pillars for him, each one coming after the next in a procession over a period of time that would cause a series of escalating disasters to thin the populace and keep them distracted long enough to accomplish their goals.
