The Convergence

Lorelei – Entry 3

The war involves several dwarves and humans. I would prefer not to recall how many have already been lost to this war. Two soldiers try to attack us while their fearless leader runs away. I summoned a riding dog to attack one of the soldiers. He ripped one of them to shreds. It seems I have a certain way with animals. Grimm decided that the one who tried to run “MUST DIEEEE!” it could have been dangerous if he escaped.
Grimm destroyed the other with a massive magic attack. Not bad Grimm, not bad. After the fray, the group split. I joined Grimm, Satu, and Narafel in avoiding the rest of the war. Tymmen was aching for a fight and left. Cailean jumped to join him, strange. I thought the two of them would never agree on anything. Black went with them, I must admit I’m worried about them rushing into a war zone.
Grimm cast a weather spell on us, so I could wear my armor. My dog followed by me loyaly. Upon taking a right turn at a split path, we heard the sound of soldiers coming, we hide into the rocks. Satu’s foot slipped and drew their attention. They grabbed her and Narafel. I couldn’t stand by and let them get captured. I went to stop them. They sent a couple of soldiers to grab me but I barely evaded them.
Grimm faked them out with the sound of an army of dwarves and most of them ran toward the noise. We took to chasing the four that kidnapped our teammates. I can’t say I was fond of how this situation seemed to be going. More annoying yet, they called me a witch. Well, I can say I’m happy not to be called “dead blood”. Somewhere, I bet Tymmen is feeling an eerie sense of being mentioned, but then again, he’s so dense I don’t know…
My riding dog pointed us in the right path. We found the soldiers with our companions and snuck toward them. My dog didn’t sneak well at all, and there was little time before we would be spotted, so I told him to attack. He went for the soldier’s throat and obviously did some serious damage but the soldier lived, struggling. Grimm engulfed the group in flames, injuring my dog.
The leader of the small group of guards apparently used magic. He sent the others away with Satu and Narafel, leaving Kiskah behind. It appeared as though there would be a battle of magic. Grimm casts magic missle and hit the first time, but was quickly dissuaded the second time. I sent my dog to attack him without much avail.
Grimm kept using magic missile. Wow, he really has nothing better and my parents entrusted me to HIS care? Maybe I’m supposed to babysit him? Grimm took a major hit of fiery terrany. Grimm ran away, and I channeled energy to help heal Grimm. The soldier ran toward me and baked me to a fiery crisp. Remind me to never EVER do this again. My dog valiantly bit into him, buying me time to deal a slight damage and run.
That beast killed my dog. It saved me. Grimm ran away and left me. I will most certainly be SHAVING Grimm’s beard off!! While the man ran, Grimm used magic missile to kill the soldier. FINALLY!! I sat with Kiskah, catching my breath. It’s been a long time since I’ve been so badly hurt. Cailean, Black, Tymmen, and a group of dwarves showed up. Cailean came to assess my wounds.
Sadly, there was not much to be done for my injuries. The rain poured down as we traveled further to find Satu and Narafel. I was worn out, following the group to the best of my ability. I was so tired my body took over to tough out the storm. Black tried to open a door we came upon, only to fall into the mud. Cailean tried next, and got hurt. I tried, but failed.
Grimm failed as well, followed by Tymmen who figured out how to open the door. Grimm went into what seemed to be a house. I showed by good graces by healing the entire party, except Cailean, who had long since run ahead to follow the Satu and Narafel’s trail. Black decided to follow Cailean, leaving Tymmen with Grimm and I to rest for the night.
Tymmen lit the fire in the hearth of the house. I immediately set myself to chopping Grimm’s beard. He tried to push me away, I pinned him but he pushed me off at the last moment. He gave me a petty excuse and ran away like a coward. I barricaded the door. Tymmen gave me a quizzical expression and seemed to disagree with my blocking the door, but quickly took the chance to take the only bed in the house and fall asleep. Jerk.
I slept in a corner in the storage room. As I wandered into my sleep, I thought of how Grimm’s beard would not grow back after I cut it. It would serve him right, leaving me to die WILL come back to haunt him. SOON. I got up, waking up Tymmen with a pebble, we ate and started leaving. After a ways of travel, we came upon a tall wooden wall. Kiskah has yet to awaken, Grimm left her with us. Tymmen made use of himself in carrying her.
Suddenly, a HUGE group of dwarves came bursting through a door in the wall, much to my surprise. They didn’t seem to notice me. I found Black and Cailean and we decided to move to find Satu and Narafel. Just as we are about to leave, we run into you-know-who. Cailean threw his bolos at his legs, with much accuracy. Sadly, it almost started a fight with some villagers.
We had no choice but to continue forward. I ignored Grimm’s presence and forged ahead, unwilling to say a word in my fury (which was nowhere close to quelled by a night of sleep in a corner). We found a rather large spider which Cailean set to killing immediately. Humorless, I continued forward. It was cold, but my fury set me ablaze in the freezing weather. I didn’t feel the slightest of it.
