There are a number of important fact they conveniently leave out of stories of Derring-Do. Most notably among them is how very much it hurts to be a hero….
I lay here recuperating from the drubbing I received by bravely defending Lady Maera. She did the smarter thing and got far away when faced with an overwhelming adversary. I do not regret my actions, however the enforced bed-rest does little for my adventurous soul.
Dora, the Vintner’s daughter is surprisingly adept at the healing arts. With her gentle ministrations I should be up and around much sooner than expected for someone with my injuries.
Note to Self: Thank Dylan for avenging my supposed death. Although from what I hear he nearly expired doing so himself. Silly Boy!
