Kiszunas Peace
Kiszuna’s Peace
The largest (and in some poorly-defined sense, most “central”) city in the Polychotomy is Kiszuna’s Peace, a sprawling urban structure slowly encroaching on most of the shard it occupies. It is named after its founder Kiszuna—an aurumach rilmani, and the strange property of the shard in which it exists – other than sickness (including non-magical poisons), old age, suffocation and starvation (and, due to some of the stranger properties of the shard and the city, falling out of windows…), people cannot be harmed while dwelling in The Peace. Swords and spells just bounce off, leaving intended targets unscathed.
As a result, Kiszuna’s Peace has become a neutral meeting ground for phyles, a location for diplomacy, and a hiding place for fugitives. It boasts relatively large populations of every race and every phyle, some of whom are quite friendly with each other, and some of whom see The Peace as an opportunity to continue battles in other ways. Kuszuna’s Peace was founded soon after the creation of the Clock, but all portals to it were suddenly broken a few years after the First Malfunction, and it became unreachable. Over the next two thousand years, it became a legendary place – disreputable travellers sometimes claimed to have stumbled across it, but never seemed to be able to get back to it. And then, almost two hundred years after the Fourth Malfunction, it suddenly reappeared. Explanations for its disappearance and reappearance have not been forthcoming from Kiszuna, who claims to be very confused by the whole experience.
