Regium
the Regium
There are two popular theories as to the origin of the Regium. Historians from within the phyle have compiled detailed genealogies showing how the line of Regents date back to before the polyclasm, coming from a great kingdom on one of the more powerful worlds of those ancient days. The historians further demonstrate that practically all of the shards as we currently know them are tied through a variety of obscure legal precendents to those original territories, thus demonstrating that the line of Regents are the rightful rulers of all the shards. The other theory of the Regium’s origin is that it started as a group of skilled and dangerously-armed warriors with good PR. This view doesn’t tend to get heard much in areas controlled by the Regium.

- economy:
- don’t mess with us because: the Regium has a large, well-armed, well-disciplined military, including a warmage division. Not to be lightly trifled with.
- common religions:
- restrictions, attitudes towards purity and taint: The Regium is uninterested in Purity and Taint. Although they recognize both as sources of power, they see the power as coming with strings attached. As the Rightful Rulers of all Shards, they are unwilling to make deals for power which may leave them in an unfavourable position later.
