The World Banyan

A large tree, occupying much of a single shard. Like ordinary banyans, it has many thick branches. Unlike ordinary banyans, the central trunk is over a hundred miles in diameter, and many branches are over a mile thick. Various creatures have dwellings inside the World Banyan.

(The banyan originally grew around a different tree (sources suggest an Ash, natch) which has since rotted away.)
