If you are going to be on your own for a lengthy period you are going to need some support vehicles to haul your Stinger and also scavenged parts. There is an old Mech depot about twenty miles from your current location with a number of long haul trucks laid up.
You’ve heard that it isn’t particularly well guarded but that might not be accurate. There are going to be at least a few light armored vehicles and maybe even some infantry on guard.
You’ll need to spend $1,000 to hire someone to come with you to drive out the vehicle while you provide fire support.
Daniel and Mark piloted their Mechs to the supply depot under the cover of darkness and awaited the coming of morning to launch an attack. They observed most of the evening and spotted only a lone WSP-1A Wasp on guard duty. There were also a number of APCs but they appeared to be unready for battle. There were also a three laid up Locusts which boded well for Mark and getting spare parts for Feathweight.
Featherweight charged the front gate and blasted it with his medium laser and then Sphex moved in right behind. The Wasp pilot, Leutnant Toranado of the Piercing Ray Lance of the Golden Light Company in Dorsata was at his post and immediately responded to the threat by attacking Daniel.
Featherweight moved across the compound and fired into the rear of Dorsata taking out its rear armor in the first round while the Wasp and the Stinger battled head to head each doing some damage.
Miguel tried to get his mech moving to avoid being sandwiched between Daniel and Mark but a penetrating shot took off its left leg and knocked it to the ground.
From there it only took a few seconds of withering fire to convince Miguel to surrender.
The parked Locusts were pretty well gutted but Mark managed to scavenge enough material to get Featherweight back into prime fighting condition and also got a targeting computer from a nearby storage shed. They loaded the damaged Wasp onto one of the Bulldog trucks and plan to ransom it back to Miguel if the Mechwarrior can convince his superiors to supply him with cash.
