Under the standard Alternity rules, a roll of 20 on a d20 is considered a Catastrophic Failure. This will not be the case in this campaign, as I consider it ludicrous that an action will always have a 5% chance of critical failure.

If a natural 20 comes up on the control die, but the final result of the roll would have been a success, then the player will need to reroll with a +1 step penalty.

If a natural 20 comes up on the control die, and the final result is a failure, then that failure is a critical failure.
