Resistance is Futile
Continued from The Carnival…
The following day the party had recovered from their late night activities at the Carnival and regrouped. Kira and Melantha appeared to have the worst consequences from the night, but the others were not much better off. Unsure on the best course of action, the group left the Carnival and made their way into Karina’s city center to witness the rebels demonstration (and ideally meet back up with the other resistance members).
During Malocchio’s speech the rebels called out saying they would no longer tolerate the foreigner’s presence and the oppression. A large explosion rocked the courtyard toppling the central statue and creating a mass panic. Disgusted with the pointless display that would only serve to galvanize the town, and perhaps the nation, against the rebels the heroes quickly made their escape and travelled back to Castle Hunadora.
Once there they met back up with the rebel leader who congratulated them on making excellent decoys for the true mission. The group barely contained their rage at being used, but recognized the futility of any action they might want to take.
