Kallmenshrike’s second largest naval port, Mandrunknadryck, or Drowned Man’s Drink, protects a valuable inlet into Kallmenshrike, and affords a launching point to the sea for ships unwilling or unable to pay taxes to Lijden for exit through the Bay. Waters around Vik Ingridotter Bay are notoriously treacherous, but Lijden’s oppressive taxes at the Boiling Bay provide experienced or foolhardy sailors incentive to take the risk of avoiding them here.
Because of this and its accessible location from the ocean, Mandrunknadryck was first hit by Lijden’
s invasion of Kallmenshrike south of the Bay. The town has been fortified and now houses captured slaves, captured from the people of Kallmenshrike or imported from Lijden, and now used as laborers in the mining and logging operations Lijden conducts in Kallmenshrike around the Taarskeh River.
