The Descent
Though Repsiden began the exploration of the Koronus Frontier, he wasn’t the only one. As the Borderlands began shifting their control away from Repsiden, a few smaller Rogue Traders started traveling past those borders. They found an area of space with little Imperial control an took it as their own, slowly allowing Imperial control to grasp it. But about 100 years ago, an old, malevolent, red super giant died an enacted a vengeance on the sector. It collapsed on itself and turned into a black hole, small at first, but steadily growing in size. It has swallowed dozens of systems, continuing to guzzle on the sector’s substance. Many worlds have been cordoned off only to be swallowed up within a decade’s time. Many lives have been lost, lineages destroyed, businesses lost. Many of the planets marked as Forbidden still have a populace, those too poor for transport, too stubborn to leave, or too skeptical to believe the news. But even so, many a Rogue Trader or pirate is found in the area, stealing what they can before the planets are swallowed up, or possibly saving an unknown artefact from being lost forever.
