Mom & Dad:
I’ve been missing you and the rest of the family. It surprises me a bit, since I had no trouble with the move to Portland, but with Andrea asking for deeper commitments and with trying to teach that class with the ‘Disney Rules’, it has just been on my mind.
The cruise is going well, I suppose. I’m not sure what the ‘fun’ part of the holiday is, but I’ve sat around and spent more time in bars than I normally do in a week, and Andrea and I went to a dance party that wasn’t very much fun – you meet all kinds of people there, but you just don’t really learn anything about them when the music is so loud you can’t talk. There’s a sports center, though, where you can practice some kinds of ball games — I can’t wait to see how baseball works on a moving ship!
Anyway, there’ve been a few problems on the ship: that guy with the heart attack would have died if not for a guest who was able to keep his heart going, and there’s some kind of flu going around that’s leaving people bad tempered. That’s probably why the medical staff took a good 15 minutes to get to the emergency victim. If you hear reports of some kind of disease on the Disney ship, don’t worry too much. It doesn’t seem to be very bad, yet, aside from a few people with no impulse control, and I don’t want you to worry about anything. I suspect the captain will steer for the nearest place with a hospital (Florida, I assume?) and we’ll all get a few antibiotics and can get back to our fun.
Pray for the sick guys, and I hope you’re all having a great Summer, your selves! Say hi to everybody for me.
Kevin
