The largest town in the region, Pocatello is the center for most human activity. Controlled by Mayor Gregory Pennelton and a rotating Board of Supervisors the city has managed to enjoy an existence independent of the Invid thanks to a deal that allows for a minor use of Protoculture as long as no military application occurs and any Resistance presence is turned over to the Invid patrols

To ensure that this deal survives the local militia operates checkpoints on the 3 roads into town. All travelers (citizen or not) are stopped and searched. While protoculture cells and canisters are allowed in for trade into local scrip, anything that is not allowed in is immediately confiscated and is not returned nor compensated. First time visitors will be allowed to rent storage at a checkpoint, but they are the only exception to the rule.

Despite the deal the Invid still patrol the city and surrounding areas via the skies as insurance that the city upholds its end of the deal.
