Uncle Frank is the head of the Bettencourt family, and runs the family-owned dairy farm. He is godfather to Fi Bettencourt, adopting her after her parents were killed in a car accident.

Sgt. Detective Opfer works in the Special Investigations unit out of the Sacramento Police Department headquarters downtown. He has been on the force for twenty two years and eagerly looks forward to retirement. He and his partner Val Vanveen investigate the “unusual” that happens within the city limits. He is partly in the know, but doesn’t quite want to admit it.

Detective Valencia Vanveen is a detective in the Special Investigations unit of the Sacramento Police Department. She is Rudy Opfer’s partner and relatively new to the position. She has been on the force seven years, but was recently promoted to detective. The things she and Rudy investigate seem incredible, but she knows there are reasonable explanations for everything that she has seen. There must be.

Slim is a Chicago blues man through and through. He owns a vinyl-only record store, Sactown Blues. On the weekends, Slim often holds blues jams up on the roof over his store.

Annie Mae moved to Sacramento from the Deep South, and brought her famous BBQ with her. She loves to make folks happy, and her good cooking and the great tunes pouring from her jukebox promise just that.

Raven is a favorite waitress at Annie Mae’s. She is personable and outgoing, except where her past is concerned. You can request to be seated in Raven’s section, but expect a wait; she’s good.

Gaston Neahr is the owner and manager of the nightclub Carpe Noctem. Little is known of him, other than he is a commanding figure who is emperor of his demesne. He uses bodyguards and rough goons, and is suspected of having ties with the Oak Park Bloods and drug trafficking.

Hirion Elenron is the Knight of the Autumn Court of Faeries. He showed up outside Carpe Noctem to remove Red Court Vampire poison from Fee Bettencourt, but erased the knowledge of his presence from those who witnessed him.

Hell-T (Terrence Robinson) is a big, bad, stylin’ gang boss of the Oak Park Bloods. He controls several drug interests, is at the top of the food chain, and is as fly as they come.

Ms. Belvue is married to “Count” Melvin Booker and is manager of Count’s Vamp’d rock club. She is purely invested in the club, which is owned by her husband, for business and financial reasons, and does not much care for the music played there. She is an incredibly sexy and classy woman, and completely devoted to her husband.

Spike Park is a 17 year old student at Sac State, and a member of Tau Kappa Mu fraternity. He is the son of Reginald Park III, of the Paisley Parks of Minneapolis, and works part-time at Charnel House Records. Spike is a rebellious teenager who recently crossed the threshold into full White Court vampirism. He has been stirring up trouble at Count’s Vamp’d, and is an obnoxious and annoying monster.
