Life in the Shomaal

After 500 years, life in the Shomaal has settled into somewhat of a normal routine. The Fellowship of Jangal believe this will soon be disrupted as deforestation in the Shomaal upsets the current equilibrium. Wood is burned extensively for warmth in the cold winters. Some amount of blubber from sea mammals is available, but not enough for the current population. Though Claacos are edible, they do not burn well as a source of heat.
