Rule Notes
- Armor
- Armor is calculated by location, and bonuses are not cumulative across the whole body. For instance, a character with Toughness 6 that is wearing a bronze breastplate (body, +3) and wooden vambraces (arms, +2) has a Toughness of 9 if hit in the chest, or a Toughness of 8 if hit on the arms.
- If armors are worn and overlap locations, only the higher bonus is used.
- Shields
- Shields typically have a Parry bonus. This covers the shield’s effect in melee entirely – no Armor bonuses are added for Melee.
- Some Shields provide Armor bonuses against Ranged attacks, if the attack is made from a protected side. Shields cover only the front and either left or right side (depending on handedness)
