Heroic Tier Character Building
Please make a character native to either the Feywild or the Elsir Vale, who happens to be adventuring in the Vale. The other PCs have just reached level 3 so that would be the best level to make your character at.
You should assign your attributes using a 22-point point buy. I suggest putting a 16 or higher in your best attribute, a 14 or higher in your second best, and getting a decent constitution score, though feel free to ignore me if your concept requires something else. It is the DM’s opinion that character optimization in D&D 4e is largely a waste of time, when compared to team work and tactics.
Fantasy races represented in the Elsir Vale are listed in order of prominence:
Dwarves, Humans, Half-elves, Elves, Halflings, Tieflings, Eladrin, and Dragonborn
Characters of the above races hailing from a particular settlement such as the great dwarven city of Overlook, the mysterious and insular Witchcross, the pious tradetown of Dennovar, the free city of Brindol etc. should assume that their characters are known in town and have contacts and allies among the townsfolk. Please think about it, and discuss this with the DM before play.
Gnomes, Minotaur, Dopplegangers, Half-Orcs, Goblins, Gnolls, Drow, Hobgoblins,
Genasi, Shifters, Goliaths, Kobolds, Shadar Kai, and Githzerai.
Though I would prefer if players did not make Goblinoid PCs until after the first module in the AP, Orc PCs until after the second module, Shadar Kai PCs until after the third module, and refrained from Devas, Duegar, Githyanki, Githzerai, and Wilden until certain plot points have been established in play. I don’t particularly know where the other races would fit, but have little issue with incorporating one if a player was so inclined, and homebrew races should be allowable at reasonable DM discretion.
Ancient Nerathi Warforged, and Revenants are on the table (if you want to play a construct or an undead PC).
Scales of War background traits are optional.
All classes are on the table although currently we don’t have a defender, but feel free to choose any class.
Starting character receive 100 gold pieces worth of equipment, a magic item of your level, a magic item of your level +1, and one item of your level – 1.
