Once a massive dwarf built bridge spanned the river here but it was destroyed in an epic flood, a town rose up to ferry merchants across the river here but was wiped out in the Red Hand War. The years immediately following the war the town became surrounded by mass graves, that each summer would become inundated when the Elsir flooded. During the flood the graves would give up the bodies to the river, which would carry them down stream. When the flood waters receded the stench of rot and mud would become unbearable.

The stench seemed to attract the undead which hindered efforts to rebury the bodies. Eventually what remained of the town would seal itself up when the rains began and try to weather the coming of the dead that they knew would besiege them.

Decades later few live here, thinking the place cursed.
