klik
“Klik” is the Eckian name given to a psychoactive compound produced from the Klikundus beetle (Carabidae narcosium) of Ozasobi IV.
The chemical is potently addictive, which is crucial to the beetle’s reproductive cycle; as more of the chemical is ingested by an organism, its celluar replication mechanisms undergo extreme alteration.
Without medical care, the organism will lapse into a state of suspended animation. The outermost layer of the organism hardens into a chrysalis while the rest of the body is converted into new Klikundus beetles.
