Gregor Piersson
Traitorous Leader of the Cult of the Unseeing Eye, DECEASED
Description
Gregor Piersson was a slightly built man in his late 30s, with receding black hair slicked back with oil. He dressed in the neat uniform of a butler and usually maintained an impassive composure. His day to day duties where those of a steward, and as such, he was ultimately responsible for the running of the manor.
Piersson was a zealous follower of Chaos and was the leader of the Eldritch Order of the Unblinking Eye at the manor. His worship of Chaos has had a strange effect upon his body. His right eye was taking on a shape more pleasing to the Ruinous Powers, becoming a large and bulbous black orb. Luckily for him, he noticed the change before anyone else did and hid the mutation under a bandage.
His mutation grew even more pronounced during the ritual – his right hand had formed into a gaping maw and the entire side of his head took on an eldritch appearance.
Bio
Not much is known about Gregor’s past. He came to serve the von Brauns years ago and at some point turned to the worship of chaos. He began to taint a young noble, Andreas von Braun, playing off of this young man’s insatiable appetite for knowledge to lead him down into darkness.
The von Braun family became wary of Andreas’ change in temperament and his sordid studies and exiled him to Grunewald Lodge to avoid embarrassment to the family. Gregor came along with him to serve as the head servant at the lodge. There he developed a power base and added more members to his cult.
It is unclear how he came into possession of the daemonic painting but at some point he tricked Andreas into using the painting – sacrificing bits of his blood to see far off lands of wonder. Over many months Andreas became weaker and weaker and eventually his entire body was consumed by the painting.
Gregor went to work preparing the ritual to release the demon within but his plans where complicated by the arrival of Rickard Aschaffenberg, a nobelman who had been given the lodge as a dowry gift for marrying into the family. Gregor kept his distance from the lord and tried his best not to rouse any suspicions.
Rickard became convinced there was a rebellion brewing among his servants, despite Gregor’s attempts at subterfuge, and had Vern Hendrick go to Ubersreik to hire someone to investigate. Thankfully the ritual was nearly ready to begin.
Gregor kept a distant watch on the adventurers as they began their investigation and eventually decided that they where enough of a threat. He had Stefan Sieger attempt to drug Don Quince and murder Brottor, the latter of which succeeded. When Ivellios arrived at the lodge, Piersson realized the gravity of the situation, and accelerated his plans. The venison was drugged with schlaf and he had Otto, Sieger, and the gardener attempt to keep the adventurers busy with drink and partying. If that failed they where instructed to kill the newcomers and hide the bodies while he, four servants, and the sacrifice headed down to the chaos temple to begin the ritual.
The adventurers somehow foiled his distraction and interrupted the ceremony. Frustrated, Gregor grabbed the painting, escaped, and rushed to the roof to finish the ritual. Without the sacrifice the Daemon would surely turn on him, but perhaps the forces of chaos would bless him in the afterlife.
He was foiled by Ivellios on the rooftop and in ensuing chaos dropped the ritual book, ruining the summoning. Gregor, blinded with rage, tackled the insufferable elf and they both went toppling over the edge to fall in the garden below. Ivellios survived the fall with broken ribs and a broken leg, but Gregor’s neck broke under him and he died instantly.
