Marpenoth 11th, 1372 DR The Year of Wild Magic

Day 1

Winterhaven

The Seven Dorks & “Sure Thing” start their journey to Shadowfell Keep in search of Douven Staul, a scholar mentioned by a wizard living near their home who may have information that might help lift the curse. The first stop along the way was the small town of Winterhaven along the King’s Road. The party was attacked by a small band of kobold bandits, who where quickly sent to their maker. Nothing of great note to report during the fight except that Dopey did get 3 confirmed kills & Grumpy using twin strike on the minions probably racked up the most kills. After the battle & a short rest the party continued on to Winterhaven. Once there you met some of the locals and the lord who looks after Winterhaven. After a fair amount of drinking and talking you discovered the following details.

* Elian the Old, the town gossip mentioned that the last time he saw Douven Staul he was heading off to the the dragon burial site an hours walk south of the town, that was over 2 weeks ago.

* Lord Padraig would like you to remove the Kobold problem once & for all by attacking the lair a 2-3 hour walk to the southeast. A reward of any loot you find + 100gp is on offer.

* Valthrun the old sage will do some additional study regarding the old keep, a 3-4 hour walk northeast of town. Some in the town think that there are vampires & ghosts at the old keep, but those who seem to know what they are talking about think its overrun with goblins.

You have secured lodging at the inn for a few days. The town does have a market & a few shops and most general supplies can be purchased.
