heir first evening in the Forgotten Tomb, the party gather’s there bearings and prepares to venture further into the dungeon. Worried about Jaren, Marcus ventures out to Alecia’s encampment and finds is abandoned. He, as the rest of the party, assumes that Jaren must have been captured by the Lizardfolk, and decide the best route to both complete their mission and locate their friend is to continue further into the tomb. While delving ever deeper into the tomb, the party discovers an area that has either never been discovered, or is completely avoided by the Lizardfolk. The series of rooms consist of several sarcophaguses. After setting off one very elaborate mechanical knight trap protecting the first sarcophagus, they set off yet another more deadly while shoveling gold coins from within the stone container. A massive block falls from the ceiling, crushing Thorin’s leg, and trapping him. Before resorting to cutting off Thorin’s leg, Decimus kneels and falls into a deep prayer-induced coma where he is given a vision and a choice by his deity, Heironeous: His deity agrees to rescue Thorin in return for an undefined sacrifice from Decimus. Decimus agrees, and suddenly in a miraculous turn of events, the portion of the stone block surrounding the wizard’s leg crumbles to dust (a deed that cost Decimus heavy as his toll to pay was one of health). After resting awhile near the sarcophaguses, the party then decides to bypass the others and venture further into the dungeon in search of their friend. Eventually, the party runs into a group of adolescent Lizardfolk, who quickly alert their parents to the adventurer’s presence. The party takes the Lizardfolk children hostage in an attempt to ransom them for the stone, but this plan backfires as the adult Lizardfolk rush the room and a bloody battle ensues resulting in the deaths of nearly two dozen lizard folks (including adolescents) and the loss of Decimus’ right hand (which after being healed, is outfitted with a sword upon the stump). The party binds the remaining Lizardfolk adolescents, and decides to spend the night holed up in the chamber.
What happened with Jaren: When Jaren arrived at Alecia’s camp, he sees her leaving the forest towards the ocean, and again she disrobes and walks into the waves vanishing. Curiosity overwhelming him, he sits and waits on the beach for her return. When she returns he demands to know what she is doing. Though it obviously causes her pain, she attempts to explain to him that she is actually a nymph of the sea (requiring a bit of time each day submerged beneath the waves of the sea). She goes on to explain that she is bound to a magical amulet owned by Marthis. She is bound by the magic which created her to serve the wearer of the amulet, and if the device is ever destroyed she dies. She explains that the only reason that she can even summon the will to explain to him her bondage is because of the distance between her and her master. Jaren vows to free her from her servitude. Afterwards, the two are about to head back towards camp, when they notice on the beach-line an enormous army of Lizardfolk (over ten dozen, have also set camp) most likely on their way to raid another tribe of Lizardfolk. The two are essentially trapped at the shoreline until mid-morning when the army moves on, and Jaren quickly hurries back to the Tomb to find his friends.
