The Black Rock Mountains are a strange location. The razor sharp peaks consist mostly of volcanic glass and stone. There is constantly a sound resembling that of slowly cracking glass imitating throughout the area. This sound is called, “the Cry of the Mountains” and legend has it that the spirits of Ancient Tu’Banor haunt the place, and that they “cry” out a warning of their great Cataclysm. The Mountains are renown as a source for pristine diamonds, and in fact the largest and finest diamonds known to mortal races have been recovered from mines within the mountains.

The mining of diamonds from the Black Rock Mountains is reserved only for those licensed by the Tu’Banor senate (who bestows a 10% tax to all miners). These fees help fund the Tu’Banorian navy, the Guard, and state-funded civil construction efforts within the many cities of Tu’Banor.
