Original Pre-Campaign History:

Decimus Draconis, son of Richard Wynmoore of the order of Draconis was born in Gommel Village in the Kingdom of Frannith. His father was a devout knight of Heironeus, and lead horsemen of the Lysirian Patrol. His mother, Hellen Wynmoore, Lady of Hybaria was heir to the Hybarian thrown eight times removed (which also makes Decimus an heir, though nine-times removed, and fifth in succession behind four cousins he has never met)

The marriage between the two was meant to help solidify the political relations between the Frannith Kingdom, and the Hybarian Empire, and though the relation served its purpose, led to great tragedy in Decimus’ life.

His mother grew ill while carrying Decimus, and died a few weeks after giving birth, leaving Decimus to be raised by his father. Sadly, when Decimus was but seven years old, his father also died after being fell in battle with the nomadic bandits of the Lysirian Hills.

This left Decimus alone, however since his father was known as a minor hero of Frannith, and his distant royal bloodline was held of medial importance, the royal family of Frannith decided to send Decimus to the High Temple of Heironeus (due to his father’s devotion to the deity) in the city of New Tu’Banor to the north.

At the Temple of Heironeus, Decimus spent the next decade learning the devotion of the deity, and being taught the ways of the priest. However, as time passed, the young man found it harder and harder to accept the temple’s dogma. In his mind, Heironeus was a great warrior, a protector, not a “sniveling priest who begs for help.”

Decimus also found it hard to live the expected lifestyle of the priesthood. He was often caught sneaking out to Madam Shella’s Pleasures, a renowned brothel in New Tu’Banor, where he grew especially fond of Madam Shella herself (a mutual fondness between the two). He also frequented the local bars and taverns, and it was not uncommon to find Decimus inebriated beyond the point of inhibition (a direct result of his unhappiness in the priesthood).

Inevitably, he was evicted from the Temple and the order. Though his devotion to what he perceived to be the “true form” of Heironeus gained him favor from the deity and as such retained all the gifts bestowed upon him by the warrior god.

It was during this time that Decimus met Marcus Stonemorrow. The two met at a local tavern where Decimus was telling stories (memories) of his Father’s heroics and how he died fighting the bandits of the Lysirian Hills. This was a common practice at the time for Decimus as he survived off the tips left by patrons in return for the entertaining stories.

Decimus and Marcus found a commonality in the fact that both their father’s were great warriors, and that they both found themselves alone in the world without a family. Marcus allowed Decimus to move into one of the empty rooms in his home and became good friends.
