Original Pre-Campaign History:

Marcus Stonemorrow, the son of Thurgran Stonemorrow, was born and raised in the city of New Tu’Banor. His father served as an officer of the Tu’Banor guard, and functioned as the lieutenant under Hobart Rinefor, the general of the New Tu’Banor city guard. Marcus’ mother died of the cough when he was ten years old, leaving him to be raised by his father. Many members of the guard were close friends with Thurgran, and helped raise his son, and as such are like family to Marcus.

Marcus’ brother, Gilbert, who was elder by eight years, and was also a member of the city guard, was killed during a skirmish with a group of raiding bandits that had migrated north from the Lyserian hills in search of rich merchant caravans importing and exporting goods from the northlands. This had an immense impact on the young Marcus’ life losing both his mother and brother in a few short years. He and his father grew close.

Marcus attended the guard academy, as did his father and brother, until his graduation on his nineteenth birthday. This lends to his militaristic tendencies, and martial skill. And, though closely associated his entire life, Marcus never had much of a desire to become a member of the guard himself. Rather, looking beyond the walls of New Tu’Banor towards what he foresees as “un-foretold adventures”.

A few months after his graduation, Marcus’ father passed away peacefully in his sleep.

Serving the city Guard is a very low paying position, however all of the families needs are met, including housing, food, and clothing. Usually this is in the Guard barracks on the north side of town, but since Thurgran was a fairly high-ranking officer in the Guard, his family was rewarded with a large home. With his father’s passing, this home was passed down to his son.

General Rinefor, who is like an uncle to Marcus, offered him a position in the guard, beginning as a low-ranking officer. However, without further family ties to the city, Marcus declined and began to plan and prepare for the adventures he had always dreamed about.

In place of employment, Marcus decided to rent out the individual spare rooms in his home to with which he has invested into the equipment and gear required for his plans.
