Several people were summoned to gather in a facility beneath NORAD to discuss a mothballed Top Secret project. Among them were Corporal Jason Webb of the USMC, Colonel Mark MacGyver of the USAF, Colonel Charles Kawalski of the USAF and Doctor Sarah Gardner, Civillian Specialist in Archeology. Several red shits accompanied them, names Gygax, Metzen and Siembeida.
Once everyone had gathered under NORAD, a balding and stern General handed out their NDAs and after they were signed began to explain about the stargate. Discovered in 1950 in giza, didnt get it working until Doctor Daniel Jackson decyphered the symbols and activated the device, the military foray into another world, combating evil alien overlords that can possess human bodies, eventually the military team returned home citing that they detonated a nuclear device to neutralize a threat to Earth. Daniel Jackson was killed in the process.
He then reveals that this turned out to be a false report. He runs security footage of Apophis breaking into the gateroom via the stargate, shooting the place up and kidnapping a female Airman. After this occured nearly a week ago, the US Military attempted to re-dial abydos. They got a success and we’re going to send another Nuke through, when Kawalski convinces them not too. Kawalski was the ranking available member from the first Stargate Mission. Kawalski comes clean with the truth of what happened, the Nuclear device was detonated on Ra’s ship in orbit, not on the stargate, and that Daniel Jackson is alive and living with the people on Abydos.
The General decides in light of possibly thousands of innocent people on the otherside of the stargate, he will prolong sending through a second nuke, allowing a second team to head through the gate to seek out any hostile threat, neutralize it and retrun to base. They were also instructed to bring Daniel Jackson back. Doctor Sarah Gardner is brought on board in hopes to convince Daniel to return without incident, the two had alot of history together.
Once on Abydos, the group is met by a bunch of abydonians with guns and staff weapons. Kawalski orders arms down just as Daniel and Skaara arive and do the same. After some quick conversation, Kawalski tells Daniel that an alien that looked like Ra attacked Earth. Daniel garauntees it didnt come from his gate, citing he found what he thinks is a Stargate map room. After insisting he believes he is correct about what he found, Kawalski contacts Earth. Earth in-turn sends Civillian Specialists: Doctors McKay and Carter. Kawalski, McKay and Carter head to the ruins where Daniel believes he found this map, Colonel MacGyver, Corporal Webb and Doctor Gardner are led to the Abydonians city a couple miles away to search for any hostiles. The three red-shirts are ordered to stay behind and guard the gate.
McKay and Carter are busy taking pictures of the map room walls making sure to get every detail, after a conversation with Daniel Jackson about stellar drift, they believe he may be right.
MacGyver, Webb and Gardner find themselves led on a tour by Daniel’s Wife, Sha’re, and Father-in-law, Kasuf, Sarah is deeply interested by this time-lost culture, she is frantically taking notes.
Suddenly the radio crackles in warning of a gate activation, Kawalski presumes its Earth trying make contact and quickly reconsiders when he hears staff weapon blasts and automatic gun fire before the comm goes dead.
The military personnel meet up on a dune about halfway from the gate room, where they encounter an oncoming Jaffa patrol, 4 Jaffa. Sniper Webb, Quickly drops them all. Then they see the first couple dozen of jaffa come trotting over the dune, spraying staff blasts at them. Webb takes a shot at a single ‘Big ugly scaled thing,’ (Unas) hitting it, wounding it, but ultimately it hardly seemed to notice.
The unit retreats to the city, where Skaara has mobilized the Abydonian defenders, everyone takes up position and a fire fight opens up, dozens die before the Jaffa make it to the gates – and using a model of staff weapon unseen before, the staff weapons have a self destruct mechanism and a retractable blade in the butt – blow the gates and part of the wall down.
Webb also notices a beautiful woman trailing behind the army, he attempts to make a single shot, which deflects off her energy shield. A few Abydonian desert fighters attack her only to be thrown nearly a hundred fight into the city walls with a wave of her hand.
Jaffa stream into the city, its chaos, and then the Sand Storm hits, forcing everyone indoors. Kawalski and MacGyver end up in large stone chamber with an Unas, who proceeds to injur both MacGyver and Kawalski, in the process he beats Kawalski nearly to death and then turns his staff weapon on MacGyver, already painfully wounded, and his staff weapon detonates. The Unas and Kawalski are killed as the both the blast and now collapsing building take its toll. MacGyver managed to make it out the door in time, leaping from the explosion and collpasing building straight into the sandstorm, he is blown back into a suitable spot to wait out the storm.
Webb comes afoul of a Unas with 4 Jaffa in to, Webb is able to bring down to Jaffa (with the help of an abydonian desert fighter) before the Unas uses his staff weapon self destruct to blow the building dealing serious damage to Webb and knocking him to the ground below where he found refuge to wait out the sandstorm.
Hours later the storm and battle have both passed, somehow and for some reason all the jaffa had just turned and left, leaving the city razed, and in ruins, but a good portion of the people alive.
Skaara informs Webb and MacGyver that many people saw that Daniel was Taken by the Jaffa before they left.
Returning to Earth, only the civillians and Webb and MacGyver had survived, they were seen to by proper medical authorities and then released for debriefing.
They were informed that the U.S. Government has decided that in light of the information returned by Carter and McKay, and the fact that they were dealing with aliens that had reportedly been to Earth by ship already, closing the stargate was not a viable option. The gate was the only means of providing the means to defend themselves should Earth come under attack.
To this effect General Hammond was going to take command of a Top Secret Initiative known as Star Gate Command. Colonel MacGyver would lead SG-1 the first of 16 teams whose mandate would be to explore alien worlds through the stargate, to seek out allies and technology capable of defending Earth against alien threats.
