Kan’ti (morosely): Ashton. We found some… bones… back here. Along with, uh… this charm. It belonged to my teacher, Fera’im’esti. I was hoping you might have a way of checking to see if… any of the skulls might be his.

Ashton (appologetic): Do you mean through spellcraft or through more academic techniques? I am versed in all manner of knowledge, but putting an unknown face to a bare skull is difficult.

Kan’ti: Anything! Anything! I found this… [holds out a medallion] ...near a pile of bones. It was… Fera’s. He’s had it since he was a child, and certainly wouldn’t have left it sitting around in the den of some horrible beast. So… if there’s anything you can do to tell me if the remains might be his… Well, I would appreciate it.

Ashton: [takes medallion in hand] I will do what I can Kan’ti. It may take some study, I am not remembering exactly what will be needed to look in upon your master’s spirit. [hands medallion back after looking it over] I promise you though, in exchange for your aid in finding my father, I will aid you in finding the truth behind what has happened to your master. Next night we have a chance at a steady night’s rest I would like to borrow the medallion for further study. (sorrowful) I know how hard it is to lose someone precious, you will have your answers Kan’ti.

Kan’ti: Thank you. I really appreciate the consideration. Certainly it’s more than that insane little… well, nevermind. Let’s get out of here, and get some rest. [starts walking] ...By the way, quick moves with those life-draining spells. We should have what my old teacher called “a good synergy”, if we can coordinate our attacks a little better in the future.

Kan’ti (continuing): When you lower a creature’s strength, it will make it easier for me to entrap them in Evard’s black tentacles. Once there, well… fireballs cannot harm the conjured tentacles, but the flames can certainly inflict damage upon those trapped inside their grasp. Also, whatever you can do to make a creature less resistant to certain of MY spell effects can end us with the same results. Either way, I’m looking forward to standing by your side the next time the blood-thirsty, uh… aggressors… attack unprovoked again.

Ashton: Glad I can be of help Kan’ti. You may also inquire upon Bransen. He claims to be a sorcerer but it seems to me that his magics follow a more divine bent than arcane. It is a pleasure to have you along.
