The next day we got packed to leave for Arzno. Nux, Rayne, and I were in one of the vehicles. Then I noticed that Saruman was still lying in the hole he dug in the ground the previous night to sleep in. It was obvious that he was trying to pretend that he was asleep. And Rayne seemed to have also noticed because he tried to wake up Saruman. The only thing he did was giggle and continued to pretend to be asleep. I wondered if all baby dragons were like this.
Wade finally told Rayne to leave him. So we all got in the vehicles and started to drive off. The guards look terrified, it was slightly amusing.
Then Nux got on the loud speaker and yelled, “Saruman! We have your pretties!”
Saruamn’s head shot up and he quickly ran after us, whining at the door. “Let me in!”
Rayne replied, “Saruman, just walk outside.”
“Come on! Let me in! “shouted Saruman
“No! Your pretties are fine, nothing is going to happen to them, I promise.”
Saruman finally stopped after several minutes, and flew above us. Later we came across a town. A few guards on hoverbikes flew out to investigate, and Marcus explained that we were just trying to pass through.
As we drove closer to the town, Nux lunged for the loud speaker button. Rayne kept swatting her away. She seemed to get irritated and kept lunging, but Rayne blocked her. Finally she gave up.
We had a giant mob of Simvan ride past of us. I had formulated about three different plans by the time we figured out they weren’t coming towards us.
And then we reach The Great Wasteland. That’s when everyone started to act weird, and it worried me. Then the lead vehicle, driven by Marcus, crashed. Wade and Rayne pulled to a stop, and got out to see what was wrong. Rayne told me to go drive the vehicle while him, Wade, and Saruman worked on fixing the broken axel. As soon as we were able Rayne continued to drive, since I had very little experience driving it. Saruman came in and watched Marcus the rest of the way to Arzno.
I watched Marcus and Saruman remain motionless for hours, deeply worried. Both of them had the same vacant expression.
“Wade” Rayne radioed in. “Saruman hasn’t moved for a while…..”
The response was short. “If he’s not bothering you, just leave him, we’ll get him help later.”
We reached the Grand Canyon close at sun set. Rayne went to check on Saruman and Marcus. I stood outside and waited. A few minutes later hovering platforms were carrying the APC’s across the canyon, which was covered in Ley Lines. Which made me happy.
We made quite an enterance with the APC’s. People were whispering and pointing at us while we made it to Marcus’ garage.
“You can all stay here tonight. I have a shower you can use, but you’ll have to find some place else to sleep for the rest of the time.” said Marcus. “Oh and you all might want to register with AMC tomorrow.” he looked at Rayne. “You’ll just have to check in.”
