V.S. Ramachandran is the only child of V.F.
Ramachandran and his wife Elena
Ramachandran. His mother was a librarian
who taught V.S. how to appreciate
knowledge, research, and organization and
discipline. Nothing particularly
interesting happened until he was in
puberty when he started to see demons. It
was not until college and graduate school
where V.S. learned of magic and how to use
his powers to summon demons. When he
learned of the White Council and the

This fear drove V.S. to follow his father to the bottle. But his mother’s disappointment and the still present sighting of demons lead to V.S. sobering. After cleaning up, V.S. opened a bookstore for the occult- the Flame of Knowledge. He befriended Balthazar and Veronika Blake through business contacts. The Flame of Knowledge has grown in reputation, even the white council members will seek books, tomes, scrolls, and other bits of lore that V.S. can get access to for his customers.
While running the shop, V.S. used his magic to get information from demons. Sometimes, a summoning is easier than weeks of research. He refuses to use a demon to kill, not only to protect himself from wardens, but because a demon that powerful is not something to summon lightly. He prefers weaker demons like small imps, better to see and not be found to gather information.
