GM’s Summary:
Ulshar leaves the party to get reinforcements from Marienburg, leaving the others with a sudden legal barrier from the Merchants’ Guild, only resolved when they agreed to do Don Luigi a transport-related favour. Sailing back down to Signal Tower #2, Alric & Adelyn successfully sneak in, find Herzen and Heidlemann resting for the evening, and spring an attack that kills the cultists. Searching through their gear, they find hundreds of crowns worth of gold, which Adelyn steals in a fit of madness. Alric shoots her, causing her to drop the money, but she continues on to the Ungenannt and sails it North. Alric frees the trapped construction workers, who’d been forced to dig a tunnel into the secret library beneath the tower, wherein Alric finds some interesting, ancient clues. Adelyn gets control of herself enough to dump Don Luigi’s cargo and bring the barge back, and in the confrontation that follows, Alric shoots and kills her. Alric borrows a couple workers to help him sail back to Kemperbad, where he has the Ungenannt refitted and hires the Wood Elf hunter, Mathulil. He is assigned a new, more difficult smuggling job by Don Luigi to make up for the loss of the last one.

Major Retcon:
Brendon only realised in the following session that he was entitled to spend a Fate point to keep Adelyn alive, so we agreed that it wouldn’t make too much of a difference to go back and reverse all of this, replacing anything Mathulil did in session 28 and 29 with Adelyn’s virtually identical actions instead. Mathulil now officially never existed. Adelyn fell into the river and was easily rescued by Alric, giving them a chance to talk everything over (revealing all of Adelyn’s past sneakiness) and come to a compromise. The other major change that had to happen was that there’s no longer an easy, decapitated scapegoat to present to Don Luigi when his cargo goes missing, so there’s now extra pressure from an even less pleased Don to fulfill this new mission.
