Portal of Darkness
The Questors entered Gossamer through Savandem. In this room they found a huge spider construct with handles and buttons on each leg and a mechanism on top of the head which they found opened the Secret Passage into Gossamer.
There were three disused and non funtioning portal circles (pyramid, star and square) inscribed into the floor and all the walls were adorned with black alabaster carvings in bas relief. Around the spider construct were eight statues of Yochlols all facing inward toward a spider leg.
Several buttons were pressed, producing various conditions, the only favourable one being a Demonflesh transmutation giving Tippit +4 to his armour class for 12 hours.
On leaving the room and heading into Gossamer a magic mouth warned that Lolth did not permit any to pass this point.
