Description
"The Seige of California" is an adaption/homebrew campaign for Vampire: The Masquerade. Feel free to look around and browse through the wiki. Currently we are moving the bulk of our content here to Obsidian Portal from our previous (and irrevocably dysfunctional) home at Google Groups. At times you may find some dead ends or sections of the wiki/log that seem incomplete, we have a crack team of indentured servants working round the clock to remedy this. We know there are many places you could be wasting your time on the internet, we appreciate that you're wasting it with us. Once the session recaps start to fall into place, some savvy readers may notice some names, faces, places, and plot points that seem familiar. If that's the case, there's a good chance you played "Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines". I cannibalized the main story from that video game as a part of the primary story arc for my campaign. There's lots of other original crap in my campaign; but I'm not one to turn down a vibrant city full of interesting characters and a perfectly serviceable storyline when it's served up to me.

Due to a hemorrhage of players and a consequent deflation of interest in the game I am placing this campaign on hiatus. Hopefully we’ll be back to finish it up. However, since the game synopses never came together I will start gradually putting them up so there’s at least a little something here for people to peruse if they so choose (rhyme!). My apologies to anyone who might have been following along with interest in seeing what happens next. With any luck we’ll all get our veritable rocks off. In the meantime, my group (bolstered by new ranks) will be taking a scatter-gun approach to find our new game. We’re going to play a few short adventures in several different systems. I’ll likely start up another campaign once we settle on something and will definitely avail myself of the resources here. I’ve been spreading the good word about this site and intend to continue to do so.

You Better Work (turn to the left)

In which the GM "persuades" his group to take a more active roll in the campaign.

As has been seen put to use elsewhere in the world, I will be offering bonus experience to players who help maintain the campaign website by contributing brief session recaps. Since V:TM is not a game of ‘levels’ I will simply apply single amounts to different activities that interact and further enrich the campaign space here. The experience awards will go as follows:

3 experience points will be awarded to a player who writes up a session recap.

2 experience points will be awarded to a player who fills out their character’s profile.

2 experience points will be awarded to a player who contributes a piece of fiction concerning their character. A section of the Wiki will be apportioned for player submitted fiction.

For all of these the experience points will be awarded via the Obsidian Portal website. I will either send a private message confirming I’ve read the entry and awarded the bonus points or will mention it in the comments of the entry. Either way, the points may be spent immediately (if you have access to the books) or before the start of the next session if you need help. Bonus points may “stack” meaning, if a player writes a session recap and submits a piece of fiction that player will receive five experience points total to be spent on their character (to a total of six bonus experience points per Chapter). So if the same player writes a session recap, submits a fiction, and fills out their profile all during the same Chapter of the story, they would only receive their maximum total of six points per chapter not seven. Feel free to email me any questions.
