After the Band decided to go to Luckies and see if they could be hired to clear out a Gnoll problem in a mine had had just opened up after the war.
The band approched the outlying farms of the town of “Drell” an angry mob of farmers were in the way, wonding if there approaching band was going to help themselfs to supplies as another band of mercenaries had done 2 hours ago. In the distance black smoke rose from the general direction of “Drell”. After a heated exchange the band decided to go around the village and head to “Drell” as the band left Cole stayed behind . he rode up to the mob leader and tossed him a bag announcing heres a bag of 100 gold for your troubles. The mob quickly turned on its leader wanting their share the last thing the part heard was “help me” from deep within the swarming crowd.
Drell initially appeared to be aflame, with smoke rising from the wooden palisade. On careful approach, a “blood bladder” trap was discovered at the entrance to town. Our caster triggered the trap and was covered in blood. The townsmen advised they had been attacked by gnolls. They sent a posse of 6 after them — the 6 horsemen triggered a second trap on leaving.
On leaving town (& after bathing), we came upon the town’s horsemen. They had been ambushed by gnolls; only one survived. The party fought and killed the rearguard left by the gnoll band and returned to Dress. Among the four mercenaries who arrived in town ahead of us were two young ladies, a caster (“Kat”) and a warden (“Cris”). We paid off Mari and convinced them to join our group. Cole left a gem and a note with their former associates, both sleeping off a drunk.
_*_*SESSION TWO* __*: After discussing the history of the town and history of the gnoll infestation with Drell’s cleric Father Otto, the party contracted with Mayor Hugo to collect a bounty on gnolls. We are to be paid 10 gp/head for gnolls killed and 45 gp for each “leader”. Almost immediately, we were called to respond to a gnoll attack on a nearby settlement. We dispatched 6 of the accursed beasts there (one escaped as did a demon of some sort which was accompanying them). We then pursued another gnoll group — overtaking and engaging them in combat…
SESSION THREE: The pursuit continued and the gnoll group was defeated. Our band returned to drell to cash in the heads we had collected and, after re-equipping, we set off for Lucky’s mine. As we approached what we presumed to be Lucky’s cabin, we could see the entrance to a mine in the back ground. Six bone piles were arranged around the cabin and a totem rested in the center. Four chanting, flying demons exited the cabin and approached our band — then 6 undead creatures rose from the bone piles and attached. As we injured them, they rejuvenated, drawing healing energy somehow from the bone piles.
