Lesshta is a nation comprised predominatly of Lizardfolk in the Dragonlands. Although Lesshta is a large and powerful organisation in Darkfell’s southern jungles it is far from a unified whole. Dozens of lizardfolk tribes owe alligience to Lesshta and it’s patron diety, Bahamut. While they share a generally goodly philosophy and are descended from the metallic draconic lineage these tribes have little in common. Actual violence between Lesshta tribes is very rare but feuds, arguments and disagreements are day to day. This can stem from racial differences between different draconic bloodlines or the various lizardfolk races, from religious differences in interpreting omens or the will of Bahamut or even just territorial disputes. All this means that a traveller in the South can encouter radically different elements of the same ‘nation’, one tribe may aid the traveller and point them to thier destination while another group imprison them for tresspass and sacrifice the non-goodly to Bahamut (or rather the aspect of Bahamut that tribe worships), both tribes hail from Lesshta but this is largely academic to the travellers involved.

The only time Lesshta tribes will unify as a collective group is when faced by a significant shared threat such as a major Karnok plot. Indeed the primary reason Lesshta exists as a nation at all is to oppose the more organised and aggressive chromantic and evil Karnok. Karnok, being larger, better organised and even more militant has always had the advantage in the Dragonlands themselves. As a result Lesshta has come to rely on non-lizardfolk allies, usually this comes in the form of individual, highly talented agents who either oppose Karnok in the South or travel Orithia on the orders of Bahamuts priesthood and oracles.

Lesshta’s nominal captial is the temple-city of Leoxitan, a sprawling complex of pyramids, temples and clay huts. Over 10,000 lizardfolk dwell here, mostly the diminutive poisondusks who serve the larger and more influential lizardfolk. This is the seat of Lesshta’s power, a cabal of incredibly powerful oracles who constantly sieve the omens and messages brought to them by the roaming tribes. They are capable of predicting the future from these omens with frightning accuracy, sometimes frustrating the schemes of incredibly powerful beings. A few whispered rumours persist that the Lesshtan oracles have been involved in the destruction of Mammon, the fall of Valonia and the re-discovery of Menephine in Darkfell among dozens of other, seemingly uninvolved momentous events.

There are humanoid tribes who dwell within the Lesshtan Expanse also. These tribes are generally primitive but some operate as slavers and some as worshippers of Bahamut who serve the Lizardfolk communites as allies.
