Waiting on the knife’s edge after dealing with the Sahaugin raid, the crew of the Scourge’s Bad Day knew that more trouble was heading their way. They were just waiting for the other boot to drop. After almost a week of tending to Tidewater Rock’s defenses, Captain Pari got it in her head that she needed a new familiar. Informing the crew not to expect her back for the rest of the day she swam out but she had the devil’s own luck for at that same time she ran in to some Saltwater Merrows with nautilaus shells on their heads and tentacles throughout their body. Pari saw these huge beasts and tried to run for shore but it was to late as she was grabbed by the beasts and overwhelmed she was killed. Catching sight of Pari’s last moments, Cayleb attempted to lead a counterattack but the beasts were gone by the time they arrived. Pari’s tricorn floating on the waves her final marker.

Looking at the rest of the crew, Cayleb felt he was most qualified to take up the reins as captain and claimed the hat as his own. He then had the rest of the crew gathered and informed on the new rules mostly dealing with the fact that the capture and keeping of slaves would no longer occur under his captaincy. The woman and children took small comfort from the fact that it was only their lives that would be ruined by the mad and cruel acts of Captain Pari. No one had much time to mourn or celebrate the death of Captain Pari’s fate as pirates in league with the tribe of Sahaugin that wanted thier Deep Platinum necklace back made thier move that night. Under the cover of a moonless night and magical fog, the raiders approached throwing themselves in a frontal assault while the enemy captain turned herself invisible and flew to the top of the Fort. Sneaking down the inside, she attempted to take out Cayleb while he was focused on the events outside. His eyes were too sharp and he was able to bring her down with the help of Mojo and a strange girl that had been part of the village they had captured in their last expedition. Mojo noticed the assistance and praised her. Mycia also took advantage of the raid to take one of the pirates as her servant and turned him in to a faithful follower of her diety. She attempted to convert others to her beliefs among the crew and former slaves but her words only angered the people and they began avoiding the strange paladin, except for the Tidewater Rock’s guards who enjoyed smoking the mushrooms and nightly activities that Mycia provided.

Upon their examination of the enemy captain they found a treasure map tattooed on her back. Working together they determined the clues and location of where the treasure was sure to be and set sail post haste.

When they arrived at the island they spotted the ship that had belonged to the raiders and offered them thier lives if they willing surrendered. After a failed attempt to fire on the Scourge’s Bad Day they raised the white flag and swore to serve under Captain Cayleb faithfully. Mycia attempted to preach to them but she found herself regularly interrupted by a strange raincloud that would dump rainwater on her and made those coming aboard find her slightly foolish.

Entering the Island’s natural cove, it had vines 100 ft up, spanning one side of the island to the other like some gigantic web. Realizing that nothing could be done to determine where to go to find the treasure until the morning, the ship waited in the shark and sahaugin infested waters even as members of the crew disappeared as the night progressed. When the sun rose, Captain Cayleb led an expedition to determine which cave opening they needed to explore. Discovering it, he ordered Mojo to climb up only for the witch to catch the attention of the canopy creeper that had flourished on this island. Mojo was captured first and drawn ever higher to the creature’s beak. Fizban rushed to try and free him, Cayleb fired at what he believed was the monster’s center of mass. Fizban soon found himself grabbed, his strength sapped from him, and pulled up to the waiting maw where he was killed. Injured and having gotten its meal, the canopy creeper attempted to flee, only to be shot to death before it could escape, leading to Fizban’s body to drop in shark infested waters and be devoured.

Injured from the fight, they decided to pull back to take care of thier wounds before exploring any further. After recovering they entered the cave and found a marker telling them where to dig. Pillbug was put in charge of doing the heavy digging and after descending 10 feet she discovered some planks. Throwing caution to the wind she broke through the planks as she stood on them and descended in to the dark waters below. An action that was especially painful as her armor’s effect of water walk made the landing a hard one. As the rest of the expedition descended by rope, Pillbug decided that she would have to remove her armor and sent up her ax to the safety of the ship. The party then began to explore the underwater cave system, finding evidence of Sahaugin but nothing truly dangerous. They discover the eggs of an enslaved fish-people queen and free her. She vows to repay her debt to them as soon as she get back to her people. Always willing to pul a prank, the little girl that had caught Mojo’s attention cast arcane mark on her and told her that the mark would only disappear when her debt had been properly paid. The expedition now readies itself to proceed ever deeper for the treasure that awaits them.

Having many adventures and sailing across the sea plundering and pillaging as pirates are like to do. We jump forward now to this vicious crew after capturing a ship and sending it to Rickity Squibs to get its profile changed. Cayleb, as First Mate was chosen to pilot the vessal while the rest of the crew went to Blood Cove to sell it’s ill gotten booty. Vowing to meet up back at Tidewater Rock. On his way to Squibs, Cayleb had the unfortunate luck of running into an Imperial Sea Dragon that rose up to the height of his ship and demanded that it be paid for the ships passage through these waters. The ship cannabilized of loot when it was taken all that Cayleb had was a small bag of coin and when Cayleb tried to offer it the dragon wasn’t satisfied. The dragon decided it would eat the ship’s crew instead but Cayleb proved very persuasive and convinced the dragon that if he met up with his Captain’s ship to the east, that they would pay the dragon handsomely. Taking one of Cayleb’s pistols as collatoral the dragon disappeared back under the water and Cayleb decided that the ship’s new name would be the Lucky Dragon.

Meanwhile, the Scourge’s Bad Day returned to Blood Cove only to find that a bill collector from the city’s rulers had come to collect. Captain Pari refused the man and tasked Fizban to sell the slaves that they had gained from raiding a fishing village. Mojo went to sell supplies and it wasn’t long till he discovered that their bad relations with the local cartel had business owners selling to him at double the price and only buying from him at half prices that he was expecting. Mojo informed the captain of this and Pari told him not to buy anything, refusing to play the cartel’s game. Fizban searched through the slave market looking for someone to sell to when his good fortune led him to Honest Sam’s Slave Emporium. Fizban took the freshly captured fisherman to Honest Sam to look over, when one of them was belligrant to Sam, he cut out the fool’s tongue. Fizban approved of Sam’s conduct and told him that if that fisherman had spoken to him that way he would have killed him. Taking this as permission, Fizban found himself with one less body to sell. Fizban tried to barter for a higher asking price but Sam proved quite skillful and began dropping his offer in response. Fizban settled on Sam’s original offer and then used his earnings to purchase a couple of slaves from the market.

That night while Mojo and Fizban spread their feats and stories, they caught the attention of a wandering anti-paladin. A half Orc and Elf, she asked around and began spending her days staring at the Scourge’s Bad Day drawing attention to herself from the crew. Mojo went and spoke to the woman asking her business and learning her name. The anti-paladin gave her name as Dame Mycia Pilbeam, and implied she would be interested in joining the crew. Pari was dubious of the woman’s usefulness so demanded that she deal with the other people that had been watching the ship and determine who they worked for. Pari had been informed earlier in the day that 16 of her crew had gone missing in town and had sent Fizban to try and locate them. Telling the cat that if the crew had deserted by choice to kill them and if they had been held by force to retrieve them. Fizban discovered three in a bar and after interrogating them learned that the crew members had left because they didn’t approve of the ship joining the slave trade. Fizban forgetting his orders, thought about killing them before turning away. When he remembered them again, he turned around only to find that the crew members had fled for thier lives, all too used to the Captain and her crew’s harsh order. Fizban spent the rest of the day hunting down the others and killed ten men in the streets, one of which was just a passing bystander that tried to help out.

Given Lord Farnsworth to act as her proctor, Mycia went up to one of the watchers and learned that each represented a different organization that was interested in the Scourge’s Bad Day and it’s crew as they assumed she was. Mycia thinking she would be direct killed one and set the others running. She attempted to play innocent but the next day she was confronted by the town guard for murder. Putting up a fight, she managed to take down one guard by herself, earning the Captain’s interest and spells fell around her giving her the opportunity to take down the other two. Passing the Pari’s test Mycia was hired on and also earned the nickname ‘Pilbug’.

Getting what they could from the city, Scourge’s Bad Day sailed back to Tidewater Rock where they met up with Cayleb and the Lucky Dragon. They discovered that the island had been raided by the Sahaugin. Preparing for future attacks the next day a large force broke in to the tower and slaughtered the helpless woman and children that were too slow to evacuate to safety. Mycia, high on shrooms at the time, confronted the Sahaugin inside and slowed them down long enough for reinforcements to finish off the group while Pari and Fizban took care of those forces outside. Mojo examined the Sahaugin and determined that they were part of the same tribe that had tried to take ambush them earlier and for the next week Pari had her people on high alert in case any future raids should arrive. Things have been quiet and now Pari thinks it would be a good time to get a stronger familiar, and spend some time alone, meditating on a remote island.

Master Scourge went down to the holds to round up the new arrivals. A rare collection had been pulled from the Formidably Maid and he had made sure to pay for the two that had been drunk and drugged per his orders. The Undine and the Catfolk, had been drinking from the bottles and had been easy to move from their seats to the hold of the Wormwood. Remembering that Undine’s were a slippery lot, Master Scourge had made sure to put some manacles on the girl’s feet. She had been covered in so much filth that Scourge hadn’t believed it was a girl at first but after the stripping she and the other three had received, as their items were taken away and put in the Quartermaster’s hold, he’d been willing to accept it.

When he woke them up, from the sound of his boots, the girl was throwing herself against a wall while the three men tried to take in their bearings. Cracking his whip, Master Scourge ordered the group above decks and was struck by the fact that none of them were moving. The Nagaji and the Human were just staring and it was bloody unnerving. Deciding to show his dominance, Master Scourge began whipping the Nagaji until the fools realized they should be following his orders.

Above deck, the foolish gits couldn’t hold their tongue and spoke at the same time as the Captain of the Wormwood, an imposing man going by the name of Barnabas Harrigan, who brooked no insubordination. Master Scourge took relish in marking the catfolk and the man for punishment at the end of the day.

His words given, the Captain left the crew to the First Mate, Mr. Plugg. Deciding where he would put the new hands, Mr. Plugg tested them to see who could climb up the main mast the fastest and made that one a rigger and picked the tall bean pole of a man to work for Ambrose “Fishguts” Kroop, the ship’s cook. The Undine and Nagaji were assigned as basic swabs and they were all put to work. When the day came to a close and ship’s judgement was due, commonly known as “The Bloody Hour”, it was with some satisfaction when Jakes Magpie, a recent recruit that had been caught stealing, time had come. After a full day of beatings, he was summarily keelhauled, and did not survive the experience. Rum rations were put out and Master Scourge watched in suspicion as the cleric of Besmara sat down with the Undine and they talked. Master Scourge noticed the Nagaji was continuing to stare at him, unnerved Master Scourge decided to call it an early night.

Summer 4712 AR

It was a day like any other in the Formidably Maid, one of the many bars in Port Peril, but considered one of the cleaner ones. A wide variety of races gathered for entertainment, alcohol, and a quick kiss. The Bartender, Jedediah, had been paid under the table tonight to put a little something extra in his drinks. The regulars saw the signs and cleared out, leaving only those people dumb enough to visit to go on with their tasks.

Jedediah recognized Aretta Bansion talking to a Nagaji, flirting with the scaly, pouring him drinks, and putting his hands on her body. Jedediah found Aretta’s tastes to be quite disturbing but at least he didn’t have to think on it for long as in less than an hour the two were walking out the door, hand in hand, maybe to hit another bar that didn’t have tainted drinks tonight. The barkeeper didn’t know or care, he was far more focused on the undine in the corner booth that kept on ordering another round, dressed in rags and filth, Jedediah wondered where she had gotten her money but as long as she kept providing so would he and if she passed out he wouldn’t have to worry about throwing her drunk ass out when he closed up for the night. Undines were usually pretty and this one might be too but Jedediah would throw her in the ocean first to clean off the scum.

Jedediah was distracted from the girl when a shout went up around one of the gambling tables as a catfolk won big at a hand and began ordering one of the barmaids to bring him more booze. His fur was black and his eyes had the look of a pirate one wrong move away from a fight. The bartender would have laced that one’s drinks for free, it would have only been a matter of time till the creature’s luck went bad and he’d take it out of the other patrons. Even still, Jedediah made sure to have the bouncers keep a close eye on that one, he was marked as member of one of the pirate crews that Port Peril tended to attract, though Jedediah couldn’t make out which one. In another corner, Jedediah saw a man keeping a wide berth to all the other patrons and close to the entrance. He seemed suspicious and rightly so but he kept on ordering drinks, celebrating or mourning, Jedediah had seen those types before. After three rounds, the man finished with his drink, tossed down some coins as a tip for the barmaid, and made his way out the door. It was hard not to notice the five sailors stand up and follow soon after, Jedediah would have liked to gotten the money for that one, but there was no accounting for bad luck.

When Jedediah closed his doors that night, the catfolk and the undine were passed out in their chairs, their drinks spilled, and when he came back in the morning, they were gone and in their place was two bags of gold. A very good night’s business when added to his usual take.

While the wiki is great for organizing your campaign world, it’s not the best way to chronicle your adventures. For that purpose, you need a blog!

The Adventure Log will allow you to chronologically order the happenings of your campaign. It serves as the record of what has passed. After each gaming session, come to the Adventure Log and write up what happened. In time, it will grow into a great story!

Best of all, each Adventure Log post is also a wiki page! You can link back and forth with your wiki, characters, and so forth as you wish.

One final tip: Before you jump in and try to write up the entire history for your campaign, take a deep breath. Rather than spending days writing and getting exhausted, I would suggest writing a quick “Story So Far” with only a summary. Then, get back to gaming! Grow your Adventure Log over time, rather than all at once.
