Star Wars: Another Longshot

Hagen Sector Map

Located in the mostly un-explored Wild Space of the galaxy (Galactic Grid S-19), the Hagen Sector is a sector of over 2,000 stars of various shapes and sizes. Few of these stars contain habitable planets, and even fewer are habitated. The population of the sector are mostly descended from colonists; there are some native near-human species within the sector, but it is believed that they are decendants of ancient sleeper-ships or placed there as slaves by one of the many ancient empires. Culture and technological levels are widely varied; there are planets that have cities that resemble the spires of Coruscant and the other densely populated core worlds, and there are whole planets where the technical level barely rises above steam driven engines and slugthrowing weapons.

While some planets within the sector have been populated for millenia, the sector was not declared so as a whole until it was logged 130 years ago with the New Republic Astrological Guild by Captain Hagen of the freighter Smokey. Naming the Sector after himself, he returned to the Hagen Sector to further explore the planets and systems there-in. Astrologically close to the southern end of the Corellian Run, but still quite a ways off the mapped paths of the galaxy, it wasn’t until 112 ABY before other galactic powers took interest in the Sector. The Galactic Federation of Free Alliances eventually made offers of trade with the planets within the sector, and the Jedi Order sent a group of Masters and several Knights to the sector to search for Force Sensitive beings and research the Sector’s Force Traditions and history.

With the end of the Sith-Imperial War, Darth Krayt’s Sith Empire tightened its grip on the galaxy. In need of the various minerals and gas mines within the Hagen Sector, the Moff Council assigned Moff Fulton Antilles as ruler of the sector to keep war materiel flowing back to the Empire’s production factories. Using his Paelleon-class Star Destroyer Judgement of the Empire as a mobile office, Moff Antilles is able to move about the Sector to wherever his attention and direct guidance is needed, or where the presence of the Empire’s might is required to maintain order. Several of Darth Krayt’s Sith Lords have also been seen in the Hagen Sector, presumably to keep the Moff on edge and to remind him of his obligations to the throne.
