Star Wars SE: Rise of the Sith
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away …
The Ruusan Reformation was passed by the Galactic Senate to mark the beginning of a new era. The legislation was initiated after the Seventh Battle of Ruusan, where the the Sith’s Brotherhood of Darkness and the Jedi’s Army of Light had their final battle. The Army of Light’s victory on Ruusan marked the end of a 1,000 year era of battles between the Sith and the Jedi known as the New Sith Wars. This victory also resulted in the utter destruction of the Sith once and for all.
The Ruusan Reformation reset the current year to zero. It also divested the Supreme Chancellor of his powers over the republic and returned it to the hands of the Galactic Senate. The Reformation required the Jedi’s military forces to be disbanded.
In symbolic measures the Jedi abandoned their battle armor, renounced all military ranks, dissolved their commander-in-chief, disbanded their army, naval and starfighter forces, and placed themselves under the supervision of the Supreme Chancellor and the Judicial Department, effectively dissolving the Military.
The Republic Dark Age had ended and the Golden Age of the Republic had begun.
Peace and calm have existed in the galaxy for the three hundred and fifty years since the passage of the Ruusan Reformation. However, the galaxy’s peace and calm has not been the standard for all of the citizens of this “Golden Age” …
