Botches
Just as Lady Luck sometimes smiles upon you, she can also spit in your face. In game terms, you’ve rolled a “botch.” A botch happens when all the dice you rolled come up as 1’s. This means Something Bad happens, giving the GM free reign to be both creative and fun-loving as to just what this failure means in the story. In combat, a botch usually means that you lose your next action. Perhaps your gun misfires, or you drop it, or you slip on the deck plating and need to regain your footing.
