Glasscliff Marsh
Ludvale Road snakes slowly through the unusually sandy swamplands of Glasscliff Marsh forming the quickest (although often dangerous) route between the towns of Whitewick and Rutherdell.
The Glasscliff Marshes occupy an area of roughly ten versta and were hastily mapped in the year 1045EC by the intrepid explorers Bleerick Awlslicker and Lud the Cautious who noted quite candidly, that in addition to brutal trolls and frequent pockets of quicksand, the marshes also contained large crystalline formations of incredible beauty.
Several decades ago, the marsh was inhabited by the Splayclaw Tribe of Lizardfolk, who co-existed peacefully with the local human and demi-human settlements, often trading exotic crystalline beads with the locals in exchange for farming rights on the more stable soil of the settlements.
The Splayclaw Tribe is now all but extinct due to the fecundity and ferocity of the unusual Glasscliff Trolls.
The renowned chandlers and glassblowers of Whitewick make frequent forays into the edgees of the marsh (following the ancient milky glass paving stones of Ludleywall Trail) in order to collect the raw materials for their prospective trades. Often in need of protection for these trips, Whitewick often attracts adventurers of all sorts.
