~ I have received excellent news today, thanks to a recomendation from the professor, and my published reputation I have secured a college scholarship for the new semester. This means I will be able to stay here in Boston, and work further with the professor and Anna. Work has been coming along nicely on my new book as well. I can’t wait to see what the professor has planned later, he mentioned possibly going to visit a sick friend.
~ We arrived in Arkham, which coincidentally is where the professor first attended, he has told me quite a bit about the place on the drive down, and I am eager to have access to the miscatonic library. I was also delighted to find that Anna has decided to make the trip with us. She acts like not much happened back in the Corbit house, but I see she is now traveling with her Shotgun in tow. I find it somehow comforting and frightening all at the same time.
~ Visited with the professors friend Marion in the hospital, the wife seemed nice enough, but his son just looks like a little weasel. I think we may have trouble with him later; the vibe I get off of him just creeps me out. Marion gave us a small box containing his journal, and a golden box with strange symbols on it. I will have to give it to the professor and see if he can make heads or tales of it. I am eager to dig into Marrion’s journal of the events at that old farmhouse, and see just what iti is we are getting ourselves into this time.
~ I am writing today from a hospital bed, after being clubbed within inches of my life by a scared bum wielding a table leg. I suppose some would say it was my own fault for charging recklesly down those basement stairs, but someone has to go first right. I am now of the opinion that maybe that someone shouldn’t be me. I think I could be happy just locked in a room full of books all day… I’ll have to see about that!
As for the rest of the house it looks like the bum has been staying here for awhile now, we found what little he had set up in the back room. The rest of the house is seemingly empty, empty except for maybe the attic that is.
~ It has been a couple weeks now, and we are returning to the farmhouse to continue our investigation. I believe we have decided to finally see what exactly lies in the attic space above.
~ The professor was the first to attempt a peek into that wretched crawl space, and ending up get a faceful of claws. Whether from a rabid animal or spirit I am unsure of, all I know is something sure doesn’t want us going into the attic. The poor professor is going to have some nasty scars and a interesting story to tell when we make it back to the school though.
After bandaging the proffesor we decided to start the ritual to ban the creature and send it back to the abyss. Everything went fine, until the corpses of a lost widow, and that bum showed up out the front again. Thank God! I have been practicing shooting since the Corbit fiasco. I was able to pick both of them off before they could make it to the doors of the house. It could have been messy had the circle been broken.
Speaking of circles I had the vision of the most beautiful angel I had ever seen that night. I think Anna was a little jealous for when I tried to go to her Anna grabbed me and wouldn’t let go to save my life. I don’t know whether to be angry at her for stopping me or happy that she was jealous. I wonder what it would be liek to date someone like her. I bet my mom would just be happy I finally got my nose out of a book. I feel I should just avoid her for awhile until I can figure out what this all means.
~ We were successful in banishing whatever “it” was from the house. I think the proffessor intends on holding onto the property should it ever be needed for something not deemed safe in the city. I have continued learning the spell I found inthat old book, and I hope to be able to master it soon. well I guess it’s back to college life until something else comes along.
