The Shield Mountains are a range along Maycon’s northwestern most border. The mountains are composed mostly of stone and are exceptionally tall. Due to their high altitude their peaks are covered in snow. Be it natural causes, magical effects, or some other anomaly there is consistently heavy snow storms within the mountains.

The Shield Mountains are a most treacherous place and few to none cross their range. The mountain range was so aptly named for the fact that it shields almost all of Maycon‘s northern border. This mountain range is also famous for the fact that Maycon’s original dwarven population crossed it around 1,800 years ago.
