The Delightful Adventures of Dick's Daring Delvers

Dogma

Only the strong survive. Gain in power and strength by devouring the weak. Vahl is the almighty, the one true God. Prove your strength and he may not devour you. Let non-believers know the might of Vahl, make them suffer and wish for death. The crux of life is the challenge between the hunter and the prey, the determination of who lives and who dies. Any means is justified if it brings about the desired end.

Organization

The church of Vahl the Ravager is hardly organized. Different sects sometimes gather for a time, but rarely for long. Vahl has few places devoted to him, since the god promotes destruction; however, a shrine to Vahl can sometimes be found in such places as the ruins of a town destroyed by plague or disaster.

Other Information

The Destroyer’s favored weapons are the scythe and sickle. Images of Vahl himself are rare, and those that exist vary greatly. But one that seems to convey the meaning of Vahl the best is of a humanoid creature without skin, constantly dripping blood, with exaggerated talons and fangs. Although not always celebrated, the one holy day of Vahl is the “Eve of Everlasting Night” where faithful cause as much terror and destruction as possible in hopes of causing the coming of Vahl’s avatar. This holy day occurs on the longest night of the year, midwinter. Clerics of Vahl pray for strength and prowess at dusk when the dark overtakes the light.
