It is a well-understood phenomenon among both Cult-Hunters and the agents of Brise that Aniconists work in sets of three. It is a part of their ritualistic symbology which, the Researchers argue, gives them much of their magical strength and cunning. Most of this information was gleaned by torture or mind-manipulating magic, so its veracity is questionable, but it has been confirmed independently and is therefore likely true in part.
Trios are eternal, they are not reformed and remade when members die, and there has been no known instance of an Aniconist willingly breaking away from their Trio. Trios manifest strange affinity for each other, an unbreakable oath that compels them, even beyond the death of their companions. In fact, it has been said that when one member of the Trio dies, the symbolic representation that they undertake makes radical shifts to move the power and purpose of the dead onto their companions. Cult Hunters are therefore advised not to attempt to assassinate members of a Trio while any of the other members are present, an exceptionally difficult task given they are rarely if ever seen alone.
The Tusks / The Warrior / Zeal
As Warrior, remember this. The world you will face will hate you and your kind, but you will hate it in return. You will be the anger of the Three. Let the Poet soothe you and the Priest guide you. Watch for threats that come in light. Your enemy is imprudence, your ally fearlessness. Wear this mask to bring terror to The City.
The Beak / The Poet / Image
As Poet, remember this. The world you will face will tempt you and your kind, but you will tempt it in return. You will be the voice of the Three. Let the Warrior embolden you, and the Priest guide you. Watch for threats that come in dark. Your enemy is duplicity, your ally vigilance. Wear this mask to bring revelation to The City.
The Horns / The Priest / Faith
As Priest, remember this. The world you will face will disbelieve you and your kind, but you will know the truth. You will be the will of the Three. Let the Warrior protect you, and the Poet temper you. Watch for threats that come from within. Your enemy is Idolatry, your ally conviction. Wear this mask to bring an end to The City.
The Jackalopes / The Twins / Instinct
When your Priest falls, you may feel without purpose, but that purpose lives on in memory. Stay with each other, and be never apart, for without the Priest you will become lost on your own. Do not, however, dwell on your loss. Your impulses are now your guide, your instincts reveal your path. Your steps will come surer, your energy will run hotter than ever before. Your enemies will be seared by your radiance, but only when you are together. The Priest once kept your faith, but now that burden falls to you. Follow your instincts, and have faith that they will lead you to truth. Your ally will be camaraderie. Your enemy will be isolation. Wear the horns with pride, for the knowledge of the Truth falls to you.
