Regarding RHoD, it looks as if Paragon is not an option. Most of the players made it to level 10 during or after the battle and the final leg of the adventure might get them to paragon at the end of the whole campaign arc. nevertheless, the characters in RHoD can be sued as heroes in the collaborative game and is why this project has evolved this way, to allow them to play the characters forward.
Companion rules are in DMG 2, but using monster stats is just as appropriate. The Alpha determines the level of the game by the character he chooses to play. The Beta player(s) should have a PC within 5 levels of the Alpha’s character. So if you choose to play Paragon, you have that option. If other players want to play lower level, then they can choose to do so when they play Alpha. A player may choose to never play a “hero” in the session if he chooses not to and instead play what would normally be designated as NPC’s (see play example). This allows them to explore possibilities of the story.
I’ll be there this Sunday for sure. I hated that I had to miss the battle of brindel, but I was sick.
I’ve made for Hero characters thus far, all of which are Gustav’s disciples. I only made them level one at least for now. I’ll ask the others what they plan on making.
Where can I find the companion stats? I’ll build some enemies too with the monster builder.
This sounds really interesting and Im looking forward to it, although I was hoping we’d make paragon in RHoD but I know a lot of people don’t like the 2nd and 3rd tiers. At least Throne of Iron looks to be heading to the 2nd.
Ill put my characters on here, at least to get things started. Maybe I can encourage people to add theirs.
If you wish. we still have to finish RhoD. You can make as many characters you want provided they are no higher than your highest PC. Heroes use PC stats, while companions use companion or monster stats and grunts use minions stats. You may also build foes (monster stats) of up to 5 levels from your highest PC.
The Alpha determines the level of the adventure/session, usually based on his/her character, and the players must be within five levels of each other for the adventure. Then the game is run by the average party level, which determines the type of foes and challenges that can be introduced. So you can have level 1 and level 5 PC’s adventuring with each other. The XP you earn is applied to any of your heroes.
I finally got the chance to read everything. Sounds fun. I already know what characters I am going to make. So we go about making the ‘hero’ characters as a PC would be made, correct? And can we go ahead and add them on here under the character tab?
