After gathering additional intel from SGT. GENA BUEHLER the party realized that now would be the best time to hit Mr. Nobody’s drug trade. If they waited he might move his operations and Gena’s months of undercover work and sacrifice would be worthless. The undercover officer revealed that Nobody’s supply came out of a warehouse on what was left of Harbor Island while he was using the Costco on 4th Avenue as his distribution hub. Because of the extensive damage suffered on Black Monday the only way to get to the island was by boat. The group decided to split up with ZEBADIAH EINAR, LIEF WOTENSEN and MATHEWWOOFRILEY hitting the island while JACK YOUNGBLOOD and OSAMU NISHIMURA would hit the Costco. Ec com76

Jack and Osamu visited The Pack first to tell them about the new wolves that had entered the den and to see if DOZER was willing to help them take Nobody’s business down. It didn’t take much to get the fiery tempered biker to join them. He was in no way pleased that a rival pack of wolves had intruded on his territory and were likely responsible for the death of some of his men. He sent GYPSY directly with the Young Dragon and the Warden to scout out the Costco while he gathered his forces.

When they got there Gypsy stripped off her clothes before changing into a wolf, the whole time subtly flirting with the Monk. Osamu was obviously embarrassed at her attentions and blushing furiously kept his eyes firmly on the ground. Jack enjoyed the view matching the werewolf’s brazenness with his own even commenting on one of her tattoos which featured some kanji. When he asked Osamu to translate the monk was so shaken that he nearly tripped over his own sandals.

It took a while before Jack could pull himself together after that because he was laughing so hard but he managed to finally achieve the calm needed to do the job before him. He opened himself up to the spirits in the area hoping to find out whatever he could about the Big Bad Wolves and their operation. He learned quite a bit from the local ghosts, some of whom had been killed by booby traps placed in the area to protect Mr. Nobody’s business. He relayed everything he had learned to Gypsy and sent Osamu into the facility to disarm some of the traps. One of the most disconcerting things he learned was that the Costco was also being used as a disaster relief center that distributed food and other supplies to those still suffering from the effects of the quake. This meant that there were quite a few innocent people milling around waiting to get food at the building. Jack used his mastery of Spirit Magic to summon as many spirits as he could and then sent them to menace the area creating a subtle atmosphere of fear and uneasiness hoping to get them to leave. Dozer had arrived with some of his hitters at that point and getting off his bike he changed into a wolf and prepared for battle.

Sadly Osamu was discovered by a pair of Big Bad Wolves guarding the building when he set off an alarm. Knowing that they were very difficult to hurt while wearing their meat suits the monk fought a retreating battle against them as they unloaded their submachineguns. What’s worse is that the wolves recognized Osamu due to his reputation and decided to hit him with a Molotov Cocktail, setting him on fire. Seeing that his friend was in trouble Jack reached out and poured his power into hexing the wolves’s guns. He did his work a little too well though because the power went out for the entire block. The wolves’s guns did jam though.

Ec com77Between the alarm going off, the gunshots, the power going out and Jack’s spirits adding to the menace of the scene the crowd in front of the building quickly dispersed scurrying out of the area as fast as they were able. Osamu dispatched one of his opponents, setting him on fire as Dozer, growling out a vengeful howl, charged down to attack the other Fae wolves exiting the building. Two more wolves came through a side exit to menace Osamu with a rocket launcher. Luckily Jack’s hex had done its job and the launcher just fizzed out with a shower of sparks.

While one wolf ran toward a van far out in the parking lot Jack stood up and started to calmly stalk toward the fight with his staff in one hand and his Warden’s Sword in the other. The other two wolves turned toward the monk but he managed to avoid their attacks. The running wolf had made it to the van by that point and was pulling out another rocket launcher and aiming it at Osamu when Jack used Fire Magic to detonate the fuel in the van’s gas tank. The resulting explosion immolated the hapless wolf blowing him all the way across the lot.

Jack then turned to the others pouring out of the Costco and used his Spirit Magic to slam one of them into the side of the building with mind boggling force collapsing part of a wall and throwing debris throughout the area. Osamu was caught by some of the shrapnel but was essentially unhurt. Dozer’s bike was not as fortunate however. A large chunk of the wall blew out from the attack and crushed it flat. The other wolf, completely cowed by such a display of power, ran off as fast as he was able. The savage howls of The Pack in its full fury sounded triumphantly down the streets as they tore the remaining Big Bad Wolves apart.

Jack looked with horror at the mangled motorcycle and said “Uh…We should go. Now.” He scribbled a hasty apology note and left it on the bike and got on his Indian Motorcycle with Osamu riding behind him wearing Caroline’s Hello Kitty helmet and got the hell out of there hoping to meet up with Zeb and the others to help out at the production facility.

MEANWHILE AT HARBOR ISLAND
Transcribed by Bradford

Lief, Zeb and Woof arrived at Harbor Island ready for anything and decided to play it smart instead of rushing in head-on, a sharp contrast to the Youngblood Party’s plan. Zeb veiled Woof with a Predator-style cloak and the ex-Spec Ops man stalked in right under the Big Bad Wolves’ noses.

Woof noticed that the Drug Lab was in an old building on the pier and that the Wolves had bricked up the entrances on the ground floor. The only way to get in would be through the Nevernever or through the upper levels which were crawling with Big Bad Wolves with Sniper Rifles.

Woof was so stealthy and the wolves were so sure of their precautions that he was easily able to disarmed the traps laid there including a Remote-Controlled Sniper. Ironically the Wolf Guards, standing not ten feet above him, were joking about how impossible it would be to locate and disarm all their traps AND make it past their noses. Woof, being afraid of all manner of canine got the hell out of there, but not before making his way down to the base of the pillar to collect some samples of the main support structure…

On the beach, Zeb and Lief hunkered down and made with some magic. They created a sandcastle of the lab and the pillar and used the samples Woof got to create a pair of Thaumatalurgical links to the main support structure. Then they used the waves coming in as a symbolic link between the sandcastle and the main support to rapidly wash it away. Lief also used the castle to bestow very very bad luck upon the guards and the area. As the sand was washed away from their effigy the actual building began to sink a little bit…

There was a mighty CRASH as the support partially gave out and part of Harbor Island SUNK down a few meters. Some of the guards up top fell into the cold waters of Pudget Sound and Lief decided to go Spear Fishing… Unfortunately while collecting his spears from the Big Bad Wolves’ bodies on a trail of Bifrost, a few of the other guards up top caught sight of him and began to shoot at him.

Woof used his big sniper rifle to show the wolves how it was done and Zeb used some of his new-found affinity for Ice to make a Beach Sand Spear that he used to harpoon one of the wolves. When the wolves fired back at Zeb, the magical protection offered by his belt buckle saved him from lasting harm. Zeb’s followup attempt to veil himself in defense backfired, his “gift” of ice from Odiana turning him into an invisible Zebsicle for a short time. As the the Big Bad Wolves regrouped with some RPGs, Woof and Lief took them out with some well aimed shots as they heard the explosions from the Costco in the distance…

The two parties regrouped at Harbor Island and caught each other up on their respective encounters, Jack wanting to be as far from Dozer as possible. The party decided that they would go in and secure the Drug Lab together, no telling what Mr. Nobody had guarding the inside of the lab. Just then, the party heard a “Yelp!” as Mr. Nobody exited the Nevernever through his usual portal, which was a few meters above where the sunken building’s roof now was.

The Heroes approached the lab cautiously, more than ready to do bad things to Mr. Nobody and the last of his supernatural criminal empire…

I KNOW!!! To say that Jack is shaking in his boots over that is an understatement. I was the one who asked for a FATE point in exchange for destroying his bike. Now I am not sure it was worth it. Gulp.

Love the layout and nice relaxed writing style for what seems a real action packed adventure! I like the way the Heroes are “more than ready to do bad things!” LOL! That’s the spirit!
