Prolog

It is the 3rd day of the 1st ride in the Claw of Winter. The year is 1,372 by Dale Reckoning. The winds from the Reach blow steadily from the east; pouring over the cliffs and across the plains. Icicles glisten in place of grapes from the expansive vineyards; a small offering of beauty along an otherwise barren path.

The road from Selgaunt has been harsh. After just a day’s travel down the coastline, the morale of the small caravan already seems much reduced. Whether all of the travelers are here for sake of the lock box – the lock box no one is supposed to know about – or if some are just seeking safety in numbers remains to be seen. What is clear is the feeling that in this weather, on this road, little seems safe.

The Claw of Winter

1st Ride

2nd Day – the party sets out on foot from Selgaunt with Keelmoor and Whitehook Adventuring Company. They are headed along the Coastal Road to Wolden’s Wayfarer in Pentworth and then onward to Palegaunt.

4th Day – In the early AM the caravan is ambushed by brigands and a small kobold clan. Two members of the Whitehook and Keelmoor is slain. The lockbox is lost. Giving chase, the party finds the former lair of the kobold clan occupied by an owlbear. After slaying the beast, they rest through the night.

5th Day – the party encounters Iztrak; who eventually guides them to the ruined keep. Fighting their way through the keep, they defeat Nathaniel’s company. Hiding behind a secret door, they make camp in Nathaniel’s treasure room.

6th Day – deep delving into the ruins, and battles machinations of Gond as well as strange, bloated goblinoids. They rest in the former temple to Illmater.

7th Day – a thorough search of the construct workshop is conducted, followed by an exodus from the ruins assisted by lingering members of the Low Hand guild. The rest of the day is spent traveling to Pentworth. The party arrives at dusk.

8th Day – In Pentworth, turning in quest to Harl.

9th Day – Travel to and arrive at Palegaunt.

10th Day – Dance of Claws & Expedition to the Sewers

2nd Ride

1st Day – (start of session 8) Sir Esmond meets with Synna Presworth to discuss payment for spell casting. The party reunites in Palegaunt.

2nd Day – The party leaves from Palegaunt to begin the search for Lenlyra Keelmore

3rd Day – The party arrives in Pentworth, and leaves the same day for the home of Lenlyra’s sister Talmor. The party rests on the farmstead path to the northeast of the coast roadway.

4th Day – The party arrives at Nockwrite Farmstead. After an amicable meeting, they are escorted by Jordan to the home of Huson Manrue. Leaving in search of another lost person, Huson’s son, Ulren, the party heads back down the path Southwards to the frozen lake. Arriving at the lake, they find monstrous tracks and follow them to a cave. Facing a dreaded hydra, Sir Esmond was slain!

5th Day – the party retreats to Pentworth seeking priestly services, but finding none sufficient. They buy horses and ride to Palegaunt.

6th Day – the party arrives in Palegaunt and, unable to pay the cost for such a ritual in coin, pledge their service to The Grand Stage of Eternity in exchange for raising Esmond from the dead.

7th Day – after resting and recovering from the rite, the party rides back towards the frozen lake and cave northwest of Pentworth.

8th Day – the party arrives back at the cave and slays the hydra! Afterwards, they travel by horseback directly to the ruined keep and make their camp just outside.

9th Day – Manes and a Jovek! Then rest in the keep.

10th Day – Travel to Palegaunt

3rd Ride

1st Day – Travel to Palegaunt & Meeting with the magistrate.

2nd through 10th Day – the fall of Reamus Thorpe
