The Fallen Tower

The Weeping Moon
The Enlighten Society of the Weeping Moon was a secret society which achieved its height of popularity in the Victorian Era. The neo-Masonic order numbers among its members several prominent business people, influential cattlemen and political aspirants. With its practitioners of pseudo-spiritual rites and fraternal initiations, the society traces its roots back over a century. Many saw the Weeping Moon as a harmless charitable organization that functions somewhat like a men’s club. They were, in truth, something far more hideous.

The Enlightened Society of the Weeping Moon devoted reverence to a prophecy. On an undisclosed night, after careful preparations on the part of her followers, Luna will herself descend upon the Earth, purifying it with her righteous tears.

The Garou, in an unprecedented display of solidarity, systemically destroyed the Enlightened Society. Its coffers raided, occult libraries plundered and allies scattered, the sect died as members of the different Moons undertake their own endeavors.

A hundred years have come and gone.

The society would be reborn in the modern era within the Black Pyramid Chantry.
And now they stand pose to fulfill the Prophecy of the Weeping Moon.

The traitor of the Black Pyramid Chantry stands revealed! And only Jacob, Wesley, Po, and Julian can stop the traitor from opening the door and unleashing a mad god.

GM Notes: This chapter of the story takes place on August 11. The chapter begins with the cabal fighting against a bane spirit known as a phantasmi. They were able to defeat the phantasmi and then investigate Ralph Cannon’s trailer. While at the trailer they recovered Cannon’s notes and journals detailing his descent into corruption by the Storm Eater. The notes also described a machine that would pierce a hole in the gauntlet and release the Storm Eater at the cost of thirteen Awakened souls. Troubled by this news the cabal then asks Jacob to divine the future and check their options. He foresees five possible futures. Four of the possible futures end in failure and the destruction of Hoover Dam. The fifth future only gave a date, August 28, 2000, the day of the Burning Man Festival. The cabal reckons this is when Ralph Cannon will perform his infernal ritual to release the Storm Eater.

With a list of potential Awakened souls that also includes Po Kai, Gracie Park, Sidi Bouazizi, Jerry Desmond, Brad Champion, Carson Harris, Miguel Mendoza, and Meliae Wyndgarde, the cabal determines that these are the individuals that Ralph Cannon plans to kidnap and use as his sacrifices. Yet they don’t know where all of the potential sacrifices may be located. They contact Coyote for gather more information.

Coyote arrives and informs them what he knows about the Storm Eater and the Weeping Moon Society. He explains that he is an enemy of the Storm Eater and is protecting six of the children on the list. Coyote promises to let the cabal meet with the children back in the Umbra to see that they’re okay. That is when the Night Wind arrives, an Aztec spirit that claims that Coyote has been manipulating and lying to the Cabal since their first encounter with the Native American spirit. The two spirits argue and offer different suggestions on how to defeat the Storm Eater. Coyote believes that the group should head to the Umbra and train there. The Night Wind believes that the group should gather allies and weapons to defeat the Storm Eater. The cabal decides to think over their options and leave for Las Vegas, leaving the two spirits behind to continue their argument with one another.

While in Vegas the cabal meets up with Jimmy Chang. He informs them that he has an idea on dealing with the spirit problem in Nevada. Ever since the Celestial Grand Conjunction on May 5, a large number of Wyld spirits have been let loose in the state. It is a known fact that the Storm Eater eats Wyld spirits, so he believes someone is attempting to gather a food supply for the evil bane spirit. He recommends using a ritual that would draw a large number of Weaver spirits to Nevada. The Weaver spirits will be drawn to the state and will follow their natures to fix the weaken Gauntlet. This will prevent any potential invasion from the Dark Umbra. But this plan will also make them enemies with any spirit shamans, Garou, and other supernatural factions and forces in the state. The cabal agrees and decides to go with this plan.

The cabal moves on to check on the status of the three potential sacrifices in Las Vegas. They learn that Miguel Mendoza is being watched by a bane spirit, Gracie Park was taken by the Black Spiral Dancers, and no one knows where Meliae is. After checking up with other potential leads in the city the cabal moves on to Pyramid Lake.

At Pyramid Lake the cabal meets up with the Big Springs Chantry hidden up in the mountains. They meet with a pack of Wendigo Garou and a female Corax named Minkie. The Verbena and the cabal share notes and decide to work together in fighting the Storm Eater. With all the information they were able to gather the cabal finally contacts Coyote and accept his offer to travel to the Umbra and train, all of them except Julian Raven.
